Really Ypsi????  STU showed what a classless A-hole team they were with Caruso's end of the game "strategy".

Really?  What a frickin' JOKE..........

WOW.....I am shocked.

Caruso is an intense guy.  He's not going to concede anything.  And that's the way he's built his team.  For him to just let MU kneel it would be against everything he's taught his team.  Don't take it personally, Caruso is just concerned about his team.

if that is true then why did he punt down 28 - 10 with 3 minutes left in the game.  dont get it.

In all honesty, he might have still been playing for field position.

One things for sure, tommies  will be back, good showing from them.  Raiders way to go, number 11 sounds good.  I was wondering how many d1 transfers St. Thomas has?

Harry Pitera, Minnesota
Willie Schneider, Minnesota
Curtis James, Minnesota
John Connelly, Indiana
Luke Marks, SDSU
Sam Pokornowski, North Dakota

According to a recent Caruso interview, 70% of his players were offered a D1, D1AA, or D2 scholarship.  He's done a great job recruiting over the past 5 years.  Tonight he started 7 freshmen against MU.

The only tds allowed in the past two stagg bowls were the result of a piloto fumble on the goalline and a joke of a fake fg....VK is one hell of a DC

Not concede anything my arse! It was bush league ball. LK showed how much class he has by letting it go. If it were me I would have lined up in victory again and had Burke sprint out and hit a WR slipping across the set. Regardless - Congrats on #11!!
I ended up going to Stampers in Fairview Park only to find out it was moved to BW3s about 5 minutes from my house. Sat with a former Raider and had a good time.

Good Point. Another good point is that the MOunt D just shut down an O-line full of D1 transfers. Now Minnesota, Indiana, SDSU, and N. Dakota aint exactly the SEC - but it is still a D1 O-line. Nice job Raiders!

+k for all the Raiders! (and wesleydad - seem like a good enough guy!)

Congratulations to the Mount Union team, staff for reclaiming the national title again and congrats also to all you Mount fans and former Mount players.  It looks like it was an exciting game.  I was able to see some of the scoring replays on ESPN2 that they showed while watching the FCS semi-final game between North Dakata State and Georgia Southern (which, BTW, was a great game also and a huge crowd of 20,000 at the Fargo Dome).  I guess you Mount Union guys called it right i.e. about a 2 TD margin for the win, although it wasn't as high scoring for Mount as some thought, yet almost.  Mount's offense stepped it up for this one; a balanced effort for both its great defense and now the offense.

Congratulations also to St. Thomas team and their fans for a fine season.

I was also glad to see that there was great attendance at this year's Stagg Bowl, getting back up there; listed attendance was 6,027.  It also looked like the weather was great.

Safe travels home to all.

Dr. Acula

That played out pretty predictably IMO.  UST was tough on D.  They were getting some good pressure on Burke.  Contained the run well.  But their offense was just not capable of putting together long drives consistently.  Once it was 21-10 I was comfortable.  I just didn't think there was any way UST could score twice more barring a defensive/special teams score.  That 4th down pitch and catch for the score was the play of the game.  Clutch throw by Burke and a little redemption for Denton after the fumble.

As was the case all year the Raider D rose to the challenge.  They played very, very well yet again.  So happy for Driskill, Dieuseul, Orteca, Scott, Nicholls and Riley.  Those seniors all played their arses off this year and deserve that ring.

Also happy Collins, Denton and Simon contributed in big ways in their final game.  Man is Collins a stud.

And as for 2013?  Well, we know we have a stud QB that's for sure.  21/28 for 222 and a score in the biggest game of the year.  Kid is nails.  That alone already has me ready for September.

Safe travels to all the UMU and UST folks heading home.

LK pays his own money for team players that NCAA wont pay for to go to game. New UMU peeaisdent is an A hole.

Craft_Beermeister:

That is excellent.  I complained about the NCAA's ridiculous rules regarding that a few years ago, even writing a letter.  The cock-a-meiny excuses they wrote back were pathetic.

Yet another reason to hate ESPN.  On the MIAC board, OzJohnnie just reported that in Australia, he is watching the game in HD on ESPN2!  Here, of course, the game is only on stations most people don't have access to. >:(

Ditto Ypsi. ;)

Sounds like the Rowan teams of KC Kheeler (sp?).

Vegas +K for you,
I'm sorry, If a coach is concerned about his team he has his Qb take a knee at the end. Don't risk the chance of an injury to one of your Boys.
Congratulations and a Tip of my Top Hat to Mount Union.
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!
