I put this out over Twitter yesterday but should've posted it here, too.

Roanoke-area football players commit to Mount Union

Stagg Bowl visibility undoubtedly helped.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

"....full of D1 players that couldn't cut it....."

Their HS coach is an idiot.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

No kidding...... and at 6' 3" 165# some of those D1 wanna be's will be breaking him in half.

I really get tired of hearing about all these D1 players that are supposed to be the heart of Mount's line up. Anyone take a look at the St Thomas lineup, for one, might have a different impression.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

There's a reason we didn't retweet that story.

Well D1 prospects who were an inch too short or a second too slow, or who actually were looking for an education first and athletes in the spare time

Rest in Peace. Frosty.  And, Well Done.

True, that coach has his head in the sand, but I took the comment to mean more academically than athletically. Virginia's public D1s are different caliber academically than those in most other places. Not at all excusing what that coach said but just giving some context, for better or worse.

He has no clue....my kid played at 3 levels. There are SO many reasons kids transfer. He also may not understand that the Mount does a great job of recruiting. There are so many reasons kids leave or decide to play D3 and its not always due to their ability to play football. My kid was fine talent wise when he left Syracuse. in the two deep coming out of spring his red shirt frosh year.

Coaches like that bother me a little. Guys like that need to research and understand the culture of college football more before they comment as he did.

Sorry, busy time and it's not like you were going to go back and re-edit the story so that it didn't perpetuate stereotypes about Mount Union. :)

Any draft news for OAC'ers? Seems like Collins had a bunch of buzz right in early 2013, but that talk has died down a bit.

What about that LB from MHB?
