Any draft news for OAC'ers? Seems like Collins had a bunch of buzz right in early 2013, but that talk has died down a bit.

What about that LB from MHB?

I know Isaiah Scott pushed very hard to get in the spotlight. Collins might make someones late round list (not saying he shouldn't be higher) Pretty sure Driscoll, or Scott or Dieuseul get a phone call.

Junior will get drafted on day three.  I could see Driskill and Dieseul getting invited to a tryout camp, Scott was a hell of a D3 DB, but 5'7 148 is a little small for the next level.  Forbus has been trying hard to get a look as well

reality check

Some of you may remember a year ago, that my high school chose to hire from outside and didn't even grant an interview to the two of us already on staff that applied for the head job.  At the end of school yesterday, the guy the powers that be picked to "build the program" walked away from the program and will not return to teach next year.  I hate that it hurts the kids (I still teach at this school and see my former players in the classroom every day) but a part of me relishes that the decision-makers are right back where they started.

I had a goal to someday lead this program but I am more than happy with the turns my coaching path have taken.  I am making more money coaching a different school's JV level than I would as the varsity head coach and I was fortunate enough to take over their varsity girls basketball program and came off the school's best season in seven years with most of my team returning next season.

rc:

Thanks for sharing with us the update on your situation.  Although I am an occasional visitor to your board, I do recall when you shared with us about that situation last year.  While I realize that your initial dream/goal was to coach at your high school, I am glad to hear that your situation is one that you are happy with.  I guess that just goes to again show all of us that, in most situations, things turn out for the best and He always has a plan for us.  IMO, it also proves that "what goes around, comes around" (as that old, but true saying goes) for those supposed "leaders" i.e. the current "powers that be" who are in the position at the school where you still teach who made that decision (and will make the next decision).  From what details you have shared with us in the past and now, they got what they deserved, however, as you say, the unfortunate part is that your former players/students suffer for their mistakes/mis-decisions.   Anyway, wishing you continued success in both your teaching and coaching careers.  Please keep us posted.

Best,

Although they have expanded it from NCAA Div. III to include all the college football division levels (FCS, NCAA Div. II, III and NAIA) as well as made it an Ohio vs. Michigan All-Star team format, it appears the Senior Bowl held at the Pro FBHOF Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio is becoming an even better success.  The articles report they had 3,500 in attendance for the game last Saturday April 20th - not bad, especially with many of the universities/colleges having their spring games on the same day.  It also appeared to be a pretty good close game with the Ohio all-stars winning 10-7.  I hope the success continues; it gives the senior players another shot a a great experience.

Was that in reference to Driskill, or one of the others?
