I have not heard anything new about restructuring, no. Since only a quarter of the division was in favor of splitting a few years ago, I don't think it has much momentum right now.

There were North Coast Athletic Conference school presidents very much involved--even taking a leading role--in the discussion of DIV, or whatever the name, several years' ago.  Now all those presidents are gone from their institutions

Pat and sigma one:

Thanks for the follow-up info.  As you mentioned, since there was minimal support for the DIV model (aside from that being a preliminary exploratory option), it was unlikely to go forward.  I had forgotten how few schools were really looking at supporting it i.e. those that would fit that model.

Also, as sigma one pointed out as has happened with the NCAC, it seems that there has been a great change from past eras when college presidents stayed on for decades at one school.  It appears the trend has been that many college presidents today are only at their schools for a short time - either moving on to another school or taking completely different jobs in the business sector.  And as we all know, athletic director positions are entirely different than they were "back in the day".  Not sure I'd want to do that job.

Got this in my Mount email the other day and thought I would share - for those that wanna check out the Mount Championship Ring: http://www.jostens.com/apps/specialty/mountunion/fans/landing.mvc?WT.mc_id=201298

Also saw this on NFL WR's top 40. Nice to see Cecil (23) and Pierre (24) in the upper echelon (though I am still a bigger fan of watching Pierre and would probably flip them).

Given the Garcon injury in '12, I can understand why they have him behind Shorts.

Pretty cool to see 2 guys from Mount listed though.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Agreed. I love watching them make a play and saying "when I saw them play at Mount..." (like PG and the one handed stab against the Redskins). Ahh the memories.

Is Tervel Parrish the next great Wide Receiver out of the state of Florida for Mount Union? Here is is highlights from Hudl...http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1148265/#highlights/7990377. He goes up for the ball very well, couldn't really see the speed, but it may come with time through Speed and Strength conditioning.

I like the incoming WR Dexter Dixon from FL.  Looks like a good prospect who might have gone under the radar due to injuries in HS.  Plus he has a good name for the next big MUC WR.  Pierre to Cecil to Dexter just sounds right.

QuoteRyan Ross is a transfer from Ohio State University. Ross redshirted for the Buckeyes in 2010 and was on the roster the last two years. He had 35 catches for 400 yards as a senior at Akron Hoban High School.

so if Ross turns out to be a player, does this mean that we'll have to hear complaints about "Mount D1 transfers" once again in late December?

That can just be sprinkled on top after the complaints about Woods tearing it up at RB as a transfer.

Dr. Acula,

Thanks for the link! Looks as though the recruiting was again top notch. It will be interesting to see
which recruits makes the 2- deep roster. :-\

With the changing of the guard at head coach the next big question might turn to what will happen with the rest of the staff. I would think that this year may stay as is but VK will want his own "guys" backing him up. LK was also very good at giving the young guys their first chance. LK was also very good at blending the youth with veteran experiece and make it all work. Interesting to see what happens.

raiderguy,

I think you are exactly correct for this coming fall, but I do think the Offensive Coordinator role will
be strengthen after this fall. We'll see! :)
