Has anyone heard anything about games being on STO again this year?  I assume they will be, but I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere yet.

This from the Mt. Union Athletics web page:  "Season and single-game ticket information will be released later in the summer and selected home games are slated to be broadcast on television on WIVM/WIVN TV (Canton/New Philadelphia) and cable sports network SportsTime Ohio."

That's all I could find.
12-0 = 13

When was the last time Mount didn't get 9 first place votes in the coaches poll? Anyone know? Just curious.

2008, Cap and ONU each had a 1st place vote.  Mount beat them 49-7 and 44-7 on the way to title #10.

Ouch! However, I will be surprised if there is a similar result this year.  Fear the Prince!

Before I type this I must say - I am GLAD to see Berg fans excited for the season. You should be - it has been a LONG time coming. However - if Mount beats Berg 70-0 it won't suprise me, AND if Mount beats Berg 49-48 in quintupple overtime it won't suprise me. Nothing Mount does suprises me anymore - except when Mount fails to win. Notice I said "fails to win" and not "loses". After 20+ years and numbers never before seen in football (AT ANY LEVEL) I choose to believe that Mount will win every game, and when they don't it was because Mount failed to do something (execute, control TO's, etc.), not because the other team beat them. Just the way I see it. I think Berg will have a great year. I think Berg will go 9-1. But I also think Mount (and more importantly VK) will be on a mission to show that while LK was a great coach (the greatest IMHO) - the dynasty was more than LK and doesn't stop now that he is gone. I see Mount beating Berg 45-10. Not a knock on Berg at all - I just think Mount is going to be driven to show "WE ARE STILL THE MACHINE".

desertraider,

Good points!  I agree Heidelberg should be excited about this coming season. It was not
that long ago when Capital (Rocky years) and JCU were right up there winning all their games except one. The Raiders have over the long haul continued to succeed despite all the opposing teams who thought that this year would be the year. This year will be exciting to watch as the upper tier OAC teams try to establish themselves as a worthy challenger. For now, I am just thinking about Franklin and what they bring to Alliance on 9-7-13! :)

The Tony Rizzo Show on ESPN Radio had a lady on today and she said she roots for Mount Union as her favorite college football team. She asked if she could share a story about the retiring Coach Kehres. She proceeded to say her husband's brother was roommates with LK in Miller Hall. Rather than join a fraternity, these guys decided to create their own, Delta Iota Kappa, and had shirts, hats, etc. made with "DIK" represented. If true, it is a hilarious story about LK is his younger Quarterbacking days.

There's that Mount arrogance we came to know and love over the years. It's been awhile since I've seen it. (although, I admittedly haven't spent much time on the boards in the off-season).  I guess when a team wins 2 of the last 6 National Championships it gets to be pretty heady stuff.  ;)

Got a phone call today from Mark Black, former OLB at Mount Union. He has been selected to be inducted into the M-Club Hall of Fame. Mark was a great football player and has had a wildly successful career as an educator, principal and administrator. Congratulations.

The person who talked to Rizzo was not telling the truth about Larry Kehres. I lived in Miller Hall. Larry was never involved at all in the antics of the DIK group,of which I was one . Larry is and was a very straight guy. He was a rule enforcer not a rule breaker. His roommate was Bill Unger, the other quarterback. He was just as straight as Larry. I never saw or heard of Larry doing anything wrong. He didn't even drink beer that I ever saw. This woman lied about Larry. Period.

The UWW arrogance disappeared pretty quick last season.  Hopefully the Warhawks can make it back to competing for league titles soon.
