Had to post a video of a professional athlete doing GOOD - instead of the crap the national media (yes ESPN that is directed at you) focuses on. Would like to see more of these getting coverage.

Nice to see Pierre understands that being a good man - is just as important (if not more) as being a good athlete.

On the Cecil front (and I guess still on the Pierre front as well):

Very interesting links- thanks for sharing.
The rantsports fantasy article is really cool- 2 former Mt receivers being compared for Fantasy points- IMO that's when a player knows he's made it.
I understand Mt fans might be reluctant to comment on the Pierre vs Cecil comparison, but for those who aren't I'm interested in your opinions. Limiting the discussion to Fantasy points is a good way to get around direct comparisons of the two.
Having seen both of them play vs UWW I'd have to say I feared Pierre more, but Shorts was so versatile.  Is it fair to say Pierre was a bigger "big play" threat while Cecil was a constant unstoppable? (I recall his crisp route running in the 2009 Stagg- couldn't be stopped).

The other difference from a UW-W perspective is that Cecil was well respected as a good guy.

Is that because Pierre beat UWW more often than not?  Or was it his "Mount Union arrogance" that rubbed UWW the wrong way?  I guess you could argue that Cecil was a better player, but to say that Pierre is not a good guy is laughable.

I believe you can watch an archived copy on the NCAA site.  Not a copy on DVD, but can watch it streaming online.

Apologize for not going back days and reading your board, but is it the "Wide Receiver U." article I just read about Garcon and Shorts you've been discussing?
If not, I can try to link it.

Not really sure who is better between Pierre and Cecil as both were great at Mount and are having outstanding careers in the NFL. However, having watched both play at Mount I would have to say that Pierre seemed to stand out more than Cecil. Cecil I think was/is a better athlete (QB, WR, K/PR) but I think Pierre was/is a better WR. Both could go deep whenever they wanted (that should bring out the fans from any team that prevented them going deep one time in a game "hey we stopped him"), and both were deadly in the open field - but Pierre would lay out a DB and pave the way (see numerous Kmic runs) on one series - then make an unbelievable grab for a TD on the next. Maybe Pierre just had more memorable/stand-out moments for me. I did love going to the games and seeing the Micheli, Pierre and Kmic on the field - cuz you knew they could score 28 before you got back from the bathroom.

I do agree with the previous comment that PG was more of a big play threat. The thing with Cecil was that he was hard to game plan since he could line up almost anywhere.

Here's a question: Yards aside (that's a tough one) who is more beloved to Mount fans - Kmic or Moore? Or, when talking Mount greats at RB why does Pugh seem to be overlooked? Is it simply he had 1 great year as opposed to Kmic and Moore having great careers? Curious.

Wow, that is like asking a father who his favorite child is.

I would say Kmic and Moore are even in my book.  Pugh is sort of the little brother.

Pugh was a victim of timing.  Too much overlap with Moore's time where Pugh was behind him.

Looking at the roster it looks like a few of the expected key guys have bulked up. Roster weights taken with a grain of salt and all, but here are a few:

Fechko and Lally now listed at 260.  That's a big jump for Lally.  Thomas and Bridges also added 10+ lbs.

TE Lane Clark listed at 6'4" 245 this yr.

LB Gonell up to 225 this yr.

OT Goble listed at 6'4" 280 which is 25 lbs north of his listed weight last yr.

Are there any Otterbein posters out there with a snapshot of what the team will look like this year? I am relatively unfamiliar with the OAC outside of Mount Union, so any help would be appreciated. Looking forward to the first game of the year!

You could always register for Kickoff 2013 and read the expert analysis for yourself on OTT and the other 243 teams in Division III.  The writers that put that together do a great job of getting information out about each team.  The guy that writes for the SCIAC schools is especially good.  He's well-spoken, informed and incredibly good looking.  Modest too.

Also, it's cute how Berg gets two fans and all of the sudden they want to act like they know a thing or two about d3boards and the posters.  It's always been a Mount-dominated board.  I can count more "regulars" that have disappeared from the Mount bandwagon than I can count posters for all other schools combined over the years. Been here since 99.  Has any non-Raider been here that long?  I'm actually curious about that one.

Wow! Look at you... Aren't you special!

Not about being special but thanks for the recognition.  You've been here less than a year but graduated from the Berg 15 years ago.  Where were you in those lean years?

Also, Go Chaminade.

LOL, that's good!

Not sure if I should be a little freaked out by your fine investigation work or not, but have to admit you have me laughing right now.

Berg40: Ya gotta be careful - nothing seems beyond the reach of RC.

On the Kmic/Moore/Pugh question(s) - that's about what I thought. Pugh was incredible but he was sandwiched between two legends. If we look at the yards (even though I put them aside) Kmic is actually a Legend among Legends. I was just curious what the response would be.

Dr. Acula

Does anyone know if Cap or Ott have scrimmages next week?  I don't see anything on their sites and I'd like to swing by if either are scrimmaging at home.

sigma one

It used to be that the NCAA prohibited DIII schools from any public announcement of any scrimmage  (Why might be as mysterious as a number of decisions coming out of the NC2A).  I don't know if this is still the case.  Pat???

Dr. Acula

It must not be the case anymore. Mount, BW and ONU scrimmages are all listed on the composite schedule on the OAC site.
