Typical Pluto article in today's Plain Dealer. A lot of nice coverage, a few mistakes you'd like to help him with:

"Mount Union football begins a new Kehres Era, this time with son Vince taking over for Larry Kehres: Terry Pluto"

reality check

My boys opened our season with a 42-0 shutout last night.  We played a team that had a game last week and won 48-6.  I was quite nervous going in because of first game jitters and miscues.  Couldn't have been happier with my boys though.  We were up 42-0 at the half and kept the shutout while playing all 50 active players throughout the second half.  Starting quarterback only played first half and went 11/13 for 257 yards and 4 TD's.  Pretty solid start to the season.  So glad the season is back upon us.

What are the chances that on November 16th at Mount Union Stadium the 9-0 Purple Raiders will be hosting the 9-0 John Carroll Blue Streaks? Lots of excitement in University Heights and these two teams have the two best QB's in the OAC.

Pretty slim because on November 9th, The Blue Streaks will pick up a loss at home to Heidelberg!   ;D

Bergdad - Although I agree with you, (both of those teams will be 8-1 at best when that game rolls around), you don't need to post that kind of stuff. Heidelberg will be doing their talking on the field and scoreboard this year. Let's just focus on Alma right now...we'll take it one game at a time.

Wait, what's that noise? I think I hear the Heidelberg Express pulling out of the station...LOOKOUT!

After all you've posted thus far, this quote is rich coming from you.

HScoach,

Are you covering the game on Saturday with Ric?

He'll be there. His parole was approved this morning.

NICE!  No Capri Sun duties at the soccer match huh?   ;D

Soccer game is early.    I'm good for both.

Oh heyyyy there OAC posters!  I seemed to have zigged where I should have zagged and landed in the northern region boards.  Since I'm here I might as well ask a couple of questions about Otterbein   :)

I see that they went 7-2 in the OAC last year which seems pretty impressive.  Was this a product of the conference having a down year or are they a legitimately good football team?  It was quite the turn around to go from 3-7 in 2011 to 8-2 in 2012.  Who are some of their key play makers to look out for?

Perhaps fill in the blank:  St. John Fisher will be in trouble if Otterbein __________________ .

I'll start.  St. John Fisher will be in trouble if Otterbein remotely resembles Mount Union.  But I'm hoping for maybe some more insightful responses into strengths of their team and when you know they are rolling.

Don't worry - they don't. No offense to the Bein - but both Mount and Bein are from Ohio and the similarities end there.

My sentiments exactly. I seem to remember the Berg being "Titans" and undefeated facing Mount for all the marbles.....
I was on campus (Mount) and checked out the new pressbox and all - very nice. HOWEVER - I miss the Purple Raider logo!! Don't want to upset any Dom Caper people or anything but I would trade all that in for the block Mount Union Purple Raiders and the sword!

Don't tease me.

I've been telling everyone who asks me, it's not the offensive side of the ball I'm worried about for JCU.  If they're going to go 9-0, the D is going to have to get a few stops.

We'll get a clue in just 16 days.

Planning on being there for that one.

I would strongly doubt we will.  Couldn't help but notice his attorney of record is Jeff Jakmides too.  Not exactly a public defender.

Article on Mark Myers on Cleveland.com today.  Maybe it's in the paper too, is this one of the days they actually print one?

Traditional Friday reminder to get your picks in.

And if you can't get them in tonight, it's only three points ... get the rest in by noon tomorrow.

Hi mr_mom,

Is there a way that I can still enter this pool?

Yup.   Just check out the "Pick-Ems" tab located inside the "General Football" forum page.

Don't know Jeff Jakmides? Can you elaborate?
