Homophobic posts?  Heidi as a national champion?  Bleed wading in talking about a rival?  What????  Really???

Tsk....tsk....tsk....you crazy kids!

Bleed.....hopefully we will see UWW in the play-offs again.  If you get there.....it's all good.   ;)

Heidi folks (well one really).....Mount will see you soon enough.  You do realize that every year you didn't make the play-offs (and that has been every year) your head coach was down watching/cheering on Mount, and sharing beers at the Hood after the game, right?  Don't disrespect the guy that has now made Heidi who it is in football.  Have fun, enjoy, but really try to not be a d#$%bag.  Not that you are.......I think it's in all fun.

DOC.....you silly silly wabbit.  Typical DOC doing what DOC does.  God love you man.......you are a challenge!

You see all the craziness that ensues when Mount shows even the slightest chink in their armor?  I'm reminded of Jack Nicholson's character on the witness stand in "A Few Good Men".  "You want Mount on the top of this mountain. You NEED Mount on the top of this mountain." Maybe NOBODY knows how to act when Mount wanders anywhere close to the edge?

Regarding DOC. I've even private messaged him about it. I rarely have any idea of what he's talking about!  ;)

Oh, and my DEEPEST apologies to Toph!  :)

And UW-W getting back to the playoffs. Let's just say that if that happens, you may begin to appreciate the aberration of 2012 even more than you already have.  Will the aberration extend to 2013? We will soon see.  But with ridiculous young talent and size on the O-line (9 freshmen and sophomores on the 2-deep that probably represent UW=W's best recruiting effort in their run), a freshman QB potential stud waiting in the wings, and the cupboard as full as usual defensively, I think you can plan on being ready to strap it up again in 2014 and beyond.  Let's put it this way, if UW-W makes the playoffs this year, it's a bad sign for people who don't like the color "Post-season Purple".

I'm also keeping an eye on those Crusaders. I would hate for UW-W to go through all this work to resume our annual Mount rivalry and have those Texans step in and mess things up one way or another...

Mount close to the edge...of what?  Defending National Champs, shutout and blowout in the OAC opener, returning All-American at QB and RB, defense looks like one of the top units in the country, sounds familiar.  I guess the O-Line could use some work but Mount has a pretty good track record of working things out.  I would say that losing to Buff State at home or St. Thomas losing to the Johnnies are bigger chinks in the armor than beating at top 20 (15?) team in game one with 15+ new starters, oh yeah and without that HOF head coach.

as far as Germany Woods' old team is concerned; Mount still rolls into Tiffin and beats 'Berg by 17+ in front of a standing room only (is there any other option at that dump?) crowd of dozens of 'Berg fans.  Should be a huge game, but lets not pretend like 'Berg won't lose to some joke of a team by then anyways

Toph

Feels good to get the board riled up again.  I think it's been years since I poked the nest.  Sadly, I missed the homophobic posts.  Now if I could only find something to argue with RC about...

And I stand by my point.  I'm not saying don't be excited.  I'm saying you've got some time before you even get to Mount.  Heidelberg should win their next four  relatively easily.  But it's the remaining schedule that will show whether or not they're legit.  Mount Union, at John Carroll (who just embarrassed BW in their home opener, on SHRINERS DAY, no less!), and at BW...who I am not sure what to make of after last week. That's the stretch where we find out about Heidelberg.

TheBerg40

A lot of passion out here... Can't we all just get along?  :)

25 years ago today Heidelberg beat Mount 24 – 14. Bryce Tuohy rushed for over 250 yards.

Could this be the year history repeats with another great Heidelberg running back having an incredible game?

I say YES!

I know people have told you this before, but you've got four weeks of games before you get there.  I can appreciate how excited you are now that your team has finally had two seasons above .500 after about 20 years of some of the worst football at any level, but your constant posts about Mount make me really hope that Heidelberg stumbles against any of the teams they have coming up just so the Mount game is meaningless and you have egg on your face.

Congratulations, your team is good.  I'd tell you to act like you've been there before, but unless you're pushing 70, you probably haven't.

It appears, sadly, that TheBerg wasn't even born for that 1972 Stagg Bowl.  But he WAS the president of the business club at Heidelberg College, though, which seems like kind of a big deal.  His apartment likely smells of rich mahogany, and no doubt he has many leather-bound books.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

HScoach,

What are your thoughts on the changes on the O line for game 2 and again for Marietta? Do you
see any progress? Based upon some comments I have read, it appears the Raiders have to
consider the type of game plan changes at least for now! :-\

Need to see how they look on Saturday.   Very interested in seeing real progress against a team that gave up 350+ on the ground to Capital.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Well, yes and no.  The national champion Stagg Bowl began in 1973.  From 1969 thru 1972 there were two regional championships: the Knute Rockne Bowl for the east and the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl for the west.

Is there any info on why Samford vacated the 1970 Stagg Bowl?  A quick Google search doesn't turn up much, and now my interest is piqued.

Gosh, I don't know...close to the edge of winning a conference game by less than 15 points?  I actually agree with everything in this post, including the prediction of the Berg game.  It's just that some of the Mount posters (especially in the in-game thread) seem to have more concern than usual.  And to have a confident Berg poster makes the OAC board much more interesting IMO.
