By the way, ZERO holding yards. ZERO. Absolutely ridiculous!

Penalties in the game:

Happened to catch Pierre making another great catch today:

On the officiating - it was subpar to say the least. I still can't understand the "fumble" call. I was trying to listen to the game on the phone link early and it sounded like they had 3 different crews calling the game at the same time. Could not make out what any of them were saying. The image in my head was the Heidi crew, the Mount student crew and Ric all sitting in a room about the size of a port-a-john. Oh well. Once I got to where I was headed the video feed was great. Mount should look into that.

I haven't seen it explained so I'll ask...what was the idea behind Meachum "punting" the ball on 4th and short toward the end of the game? Too many things can go wrong in that scenario.

What? Like a (-7) yard punt? ;D I was left scratching my head on that one as well. Maybe the punter was dinged up after the fake?

Very much looking forward to the JCU/Berg tilt on Saturday.  Was out of town and couldn't catch the Mount/Berg game, but I'm interested to see how JCU matches up this weekend.

The Ohio Athletic Conference should be embarrassed by its officiating this year, but I doubt it is. An OAC official sat right in front of me during the game yesterday. I wonder if he saw the forward pass ruled a fumble play since none of his officials on the field saw it. To tell VK that no one saw it is the most absurd thing I have ever heard from an official. I mean, after all, wouldn't one of them accidentally be looking at the ball? The officiating has been horrid all year and now it has become a joke.

I always thought it was the referees job to watch the quarterback, the ball and the clock.  How could the referee miss a play.  Did not see the play in question but I would protest/report this the conference so fast it breaks the land speed record of a fully laden sparrow.

My opinion and $2 will get you a cup of coffee at Mt. Union Stadium, but I think JCU will be 9-0 when they come to Alliance.
12-0 = 13

That would be interesting. After all that chatter, Berg would probably end up missing the playoffs if that happens. The next couple of weeks will be fun, that's for sure.

I have always thought that D3 officiating was poor at best.  Hard to believe it has gotten worse.

This stat is a repeat so many of the Raider games over the last few decades. Not only are the OAC refs a disgrace to the OAC, they give the other good officials in other leagues and conferences a bad name. ::)

I know what you guys mean and your are right.  Unfortunately, we've been saying that about the MIAA referees also for the past few years as the same thing has happened.

From ESPN looking at 10 things learned from Redskins/Chargers game:
9.Garcon was a beast all day and finished with seven catches for 172 yards. His blocking was good, but his hands were fantastic and he made plays downfield for a change. He made another one-handed grab while covered by corner Derek Cox and then caught a pass behind him while going to the ground on a dig route. Griffin has two targets that he can trust to catch the ball as long as it's near them: Garcon and Reed. No one has been more frustrated the past several weeks than Garcon. But nobody plays harder all game than this guy.

I told my nephew when PG got drafted that it wasn't his big catches and speed (almost all WRs have that) - it was his blocking and drive on EVERY PLAY that made him stand out and worth a shot.
