Mount holding on late 4th - JCU driving. Mount up 42-34 and just got 2 late penalties. 1 on 3rd and 17 that gives JCU a 1st. Then a personal foul for 15. Dumb. Under 2 minutes (1:38) and these penalties are killers. JCU showing everything you want: guts, heart, desire - great performance. But Mount is making some boneheaded mistakes that are helping out at this point.

Wow, exciting game! Congratulations to both teams for a hard fought game. JCU never gave up and battled right to the very end. They should do well in the playoffs. Can't wait to watch the replay tonight on STO. My heart was racing so fast during that final JCU drive! Good luck Mount in the playoffs!

JCU turns it over on downs deep in UMU territory. Mount will hang on for the win. Mount is perfect, but I think this is also their most vulnerable year. If they're placed in the east it will be an easy ride to the Semis for them.

Mt. will see this team again.  Good effort by JC, they just came up a tad short.

Did JCU run out of gas ?

Sounded like some questionable (time management) play calling by Arth at the end.

Not sure I agree with this. This was a very young Mount squad with only 5 (1 on offense) returning starters. They have continued to improve and have been battle tested against some very good teams with stud skill players (Brooks, Myers, ect).  The issue is not Mount being vulnerable but how D3 football continues to improve. Linfield, UMHB, UWW and others such as John Carroll continue to raise the bar. Overall however given our early concerns with the "O" and our overall inexperience, I'm thrilled where we are now and how we are playing entering the playoffs.

I think JCU will turn some heads in the playoffs as well.

Saying they're vulnerable is saying like what you said, they're young and not as dominant as they have been in past years while others have continued to improve. Mount still has an excellent chance for that 12th Stagg Bowl win. What I strongly believe is if they move mount East they should have no trouble making it to the Semis.

Great game and great call by Ric as always, both of these teams should make some serious noise moving forward, both in playoffs and into 14' with the great skilled players coming back. Let's hope the NCAA has done it's homework (did I just type that ::)) and gets the pairings right and we could see a scary sequel in a few weeks

You can't continue to say they are inexperienced in Week 12 unless you are starting 22 new guys weekly. That's similar to a fan/alum saying "boy I wish we'd figure out how to stop the run" in week 6-- you are who you are by now.

John Carroll, IMO, is a top six team.  I hope they get into a region where they won't see Mount in Round two if they both get there.  The claims that JCU is back are correct and I see nothing but a great future under Arth.

The clock running out in the first half was a good call.  The QB faded with 6 seconds, receiver caught it around 4, then tried to juke and get into the end zone.  When he went down I looked at the clock and it said .002 and it ran out.  There was no clock mismanagement, if the receiver goes down and doesnt try to get into the end zone from the four, they could have called time out and got another play.

Mount's stupid penalties on the last drive gave JCU a great chance to tie the game.  Third and four around the 15, they went to the end zone and on 4th down a swing pass, incomplete.  Wondered why they didnt let Myers find someone downfield 5 yards instead of the play that was called. He was hitting receivers all over the place.

Mount was rushing two and dropping nine in coverage and still Myers was finding guys.

Burke was unbelievable at avoiding rushers and getting passes off.  On numerous occasions, he bought time with his feet and found receivers.

Classic drop back QB vs scrambling/running passer.  Both guys were great.  good luck JUC in the playoffs...GO RAIDERS

No one is continuing to say that. He said that early on there was concern and now there isn't. I don't think by early on he meant the 1st quarter today. Mount overcame alot this year - and I love how they are playing now. Beating Heidi and JCU at the end of the season will help Mount a great deal heading into the playoffs. At the beginning of the year I did not see this as a team that could go deep into the playoffs - now I see them in Salem. Great game by JCU and I can't wait to see the replay of this one. Gotta find out when it is on.
