Not sure the proper English to say this, but I was honestly looking forward to hearing P-Suit's great analysis of how JCU was lucky to be within 30 points of Mount.   It's been a rough day at the office and I could use a little humor.

If Mount plays with the same intensity and focus in the first half it's a 56-7 score as usual.  I bet at half time you were scared about how your d3 groupies were going to respond.  JCU made a good comeback, but i put that more on Mount than JCU.  Same as Franklin and berg.  If VK and Dartt learn to make adjustments, mount will roll to #12.  If not they might need to big lead at the half to get #12

Suit- I think Mt will reach the semis but let me ask you- are you familiar at all with teams like NCC or Bethel?
I don't see any other teams keeping Mt from reaching the Stagg other than the two I mentioned.
Should they get to the Stagg- we can then talk about your belief that they will "roll" to #12- with or without adjustments.  There are three other purple teams that could put a stop to any roll your purple may be on.

Looks as though JCU and SJF have a home and home starting in 2015.

Like the move for both teams!

I wonder of the bracketers knew that, and impishly decided to start the series two years early? ;)

Emma...you have made your feelings very clear about how good you think NCC is in the recent years.  Quite honesty, until they actually prove it in the play-offs, I for one am NOT buying it.

As for Bethel...ummm...been there...done that more than once.  Unless they have changed the way the run their offense (previously extremely run heavy/very little pass), they will not be successful after the first few rounds of the play-offs.  As you well know, you have to be balanced to be successful in the later rounds.  The little I did watch of Bethel in the St. Thomas game seemed to me they might be a bit more balanced.  That might help them.

Now I for one don't quite feel as strongly as the great prognosticator P-Suit has stated (he's just outrageous that way), but I would still make Mount a very strong favorite (7-10 points) against either of those teams in the semi's.

Just sayin'....... ;)

Mount Union's opponent this weekend Washington and Jefferson will be without starting quarterback  senior Matt Bliss, who was knocked out for the season with a concussion in the first quarter of the last Saturday's game against Waynesburg.  Freshman Pete Coughlin is scheduled to get the start Saturday against Mount.

W&J head coach Mike Sirianni who played on Mount's first national championship team in 1993 is known as a great developer of collage QBs similar to his former coach LK, but Mike has his work cut out for him this weekend in getting his freshman quarterback ready for the Mount Union defense.

GEEZ?  Hasn't anyone there tried smelling salts or something??? Knocked out for the season? >:( Wake the guy up for gosh sakes!

Apparently this weekend won't be the first time this season that Coughlin get to start for the injured Matt Bliss. The W&J web site indicated that Coughlin started W&J 3rd game replacing the injuried Bliss.  Maybe Bliss so fragile and smelling salts don't have a chance of working.

Guilty as charged Skunks. I have taken it on the chin w my NCC projections a couple years running now. As I have no real evidence to support my support for them, all I can say is hopefully we will find out.
I saw the same Bethel you did and they certainly utilized the forward pass in a more effective way than I expected to see.
A quick look at their stats shows 2k rushing yards and 2.6k passing- so probably not the Bethel of old.
I'll stay consistent and believe this is the year NCC gets their matchup w the Mt. If it happens, I'll happily take those points.

Bliss got hurt vs SJF towards the end of the game pretty bad, hurt his knee/leg and had to be carried off the field.

Don't know about the fragile thing but his line didn't do him any favors in the game I saw him play vs SJF.

I looked at W&J box scores and it looks like Bliss sprained his MCL in the SJF game but started the next week against Grove City to get hurt again.  Getting knocked out of 3 games as the senior starting QB has to have some serious impact on the consistency of the W&J offence, but the freshman back QB probably isn't a green as one might think.

How Mount's offense match's up to W&J's defense probably will have more to do with the out come of the game.  Since W&J gave up a total of 733 yards of total offense and a Fisher single-game passing record off 453 yards to SJF QB could indicate a very difficult day for W&J's defense.

Senior year playoffs/ shot at Mount Union. I'd probably try smelling salts or bath salts to play. Must be a bad concussion. I feel bad for the kid.
