I just ran across a great article about Larry Kehres where Larry shared what he misses about coaching and what he valued as a coach.

I found it to be a great read.

Great article! "Kehres said when his teams lost in the championship in 2009, '10 and '11 he took over the play-calling duties for his final season in 2012. "I didn't want to leave one thing undone. They'd put tremendous pressure on themselves. They didn't want to be a group that left without accomplishing their goal."

Or, you could read it as "If you want it done right, do it yourself!"

In the end, All-star selections matter only to parents...

In the end, All-star selections matter only to parents...

And the players once the season is over.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

2013 Gagliardi Trophy Finalists
•   Kevin Burke, quarterback - Mount Union
•   Graham Craig, quarterback - LaGrange (Ga.)
•   Austin Damaschke, quarterback - Concordia (Wis.)
•   McCallum Foote, quarterback - Middlebury (Vt.)
•   Cole Klotz, linebacker - Wisconsin-Whitewater
•   Kyle Linville, wide receiver - Franklin (Ind.)
•   Octavias McKoy, running back - Western Connecticut State
•   Adham Talaat, defensive end - Gallaudet (D.C.)
•   Keith Welch, quarterback - Lewis & Clark (Ore.)
•   Erik Westerberg, linebacker - Augustana (Ill.)

I think Burke has a decent chance.

McKoy has to be considered a favorite. His resume' looks pretty darn good!

I voted for Burke because I am a Mount Union Homer.  If we had a choice to do 1-2-3 I would have went Burke, Linville, McKoy

No offense intended at all in this statement (though I'm sure some will take it that way). But IMO, Burke and McKoy seem to be in a class all their own on this list.

The Browns signed Monmouth's Alex Tanney to back up Weeden. How many weeks of practice would it take before Chud would want to start him over Weeden?  Or is it DAYS not weeks?  Haha

Pffffft......hours?   :(  Here's hoping the young man makes the most of the opportunity I believe is going to be in front of him sooner rather than later.

Be grateful that the all-OAC selections have not gone as bad as the NWC.  7 of the 8 starting qbs made either 1st or 2nd team.  Realize that that means the other qb got singled out as THE WORST qb in the league! :o :P

Those who 'expand the honors' (beyond legitimate ties in the voting) don't seem to understand that
1. it waters down the honor for those honored, and
2. taken too far, it highlights anyone NOT honored as 'dregs'.

It was actually 4 out of the 7 starting QBs.  One named Off POY, one 1st team, and two 2nd team.  3 more were named HM and two out of the three from the same team.

I already ranted about it but Ypsi is correct about watering down the honors.

I agree that the article provide a great insight into LK that slowly seems to be coming out now that he has retired from coaching.

I don't know if Alex is good enough for the NFL, but he did put out a great video show a few years bac.
