Perhaps the NCAA is the answer..(Oh Crap, I can't believe I said that)

Perhaps the NCAA should mandate live streaming from home playoff sites of all D3 playoff games to better serve the fans that cannot travel.
That would be a way to get things started at schools who do not stream live.  The reasoning is solid.  There are many MHB fans who could not travel to Mount last year and would have been served by the feed.
There may be many fans from Wesley who cannot make it this week that would benefit by the stream.
Then Mount would have to decide..stream or travel...

Not that this solves the problem....but the NCAA does broadcast both of the semi-final games plus the Stagg Bowl so the MHB fans did see the the game last year. A damn good game I might add. I think you can still see it now on the ESPN video sight. By... I think I will enjoy it again! ;D

I can't speak for anyone else but I've been busy with crazy hours due to the Holidays for my job.

I also don't feel Wesley is bringing a team that can throw the ball effectively enough to really threaten Mount Union this weekend. I feel Witt had a superior passing attack compared to Wesley but UMU has found their ju-ju under VK and with Kevin Burke at QB this game won't be all that interesting. Of course anything can happen, but I highly doubt it.

Hope all is well for everyone and as I told HScoach, I may see some of you next weekend. Likely without Mrs SaintsFAN so you'll have to decide if you'll still want to put up with me without her smiling face by my side. She is disappointed in not returning this year to Alliance but she has to get her rest!

What?   No blonde bombshell this trip?   Don't bother coming.

Dr. Acula

Here are a couple quick thoughts:

Callahan appears to be a capable young QB. He's definitely seen several quality teams already.  That being said, I don't think he's at the level of Florence right now. Maybe in 2 years, but not in 2 days.  Throw in the fact that they don't have a RB that's crested the 500 yd plateau yet and that their best WR isn't 6'3" 220 like Cunningham and it definitely seems like their offense is a better match up for Mount's shorter corners and defense overall.  It's Wesley. They have talent. They'll score. I just don't think they'll score a ton. And I'd be very surprised if they have much success running it.

Last week we saw the Raider offense as they probably envisioned it. Dynamic RB carrying the ball. Short, crisp throws. Well timed shots down field. And when all else fails Burke sprinting 8 yds and pulling off his trademarked "pop up slide/toss the ball to the official" move.  I'm anticipating a much stiffer test for the O from Wesley this week. I just assume they will have typical Wesley athletes I guess.  But Burke will be the difference again for us.  He always seems to be.

Looking forward to this week's game.  Had to miss last week because my brother and I and our entire families went to Connecticut for T-day with my parents.  Dad's 84 and Mom's 82--might not have too many of these whole family get-togethers left.  Had to listen to the Witt feed (couldn't get Ric and Mark)--it was interesting to hear their attitudes evolve as the game progressed.

See y'all on Saturday.  Any wing plans for Friday evening?

I have heard rumor of a wings get together, but evidently I am not in the loop (or social stratosphere) to be invited, so I really couldn't say for sure.   8-)

Provided Mount takes care of business this Saturday, I would think we would do our 5th of 6th (who can keep track these days) annual wing gathering the night before the semi-final.

SF - you are always welcome at my table, hottie wife or NOT!   ;D  (She does really add class to the get together when she is around.)

skunks_sidekick,

I will coming to Don Pa on Saturday to meet all the guys. Although I have communicated with
wesleydad, this will be my first opportunity to meet him. My wife, who normally goes to all
the games has a commitment so she will not be able to be there.

Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday AM! :)

Looks like my out and back in the same day plan is going to be the right one.  mess going through Pa tomorrow and gone by tomorrow night.  All clear across the state and Ohio on Saturday morning through Sat evening.  Total mess showing up late Sat night/Sun morning in Ohio and west Pa would make for ugly drive Sunday.  So, I will be at Don Pancho's at 10 to hang with you guys before the game.

As far as the game goes.  I dont think Wesley is nearly as good this time as they were the other 2 times.  The O line is a liability which is never good against Mount.  They have improved but only to the average level.  If Callahan gets a chance to throw he is pretty good.  The receivers will be fast compared to most of what Mount sees, not big though.  The TE, if used can be trouble for anyone, big dude.  The running back yardage is skewed since no one has stayed healthy enough to play more than a few games in a row.  This freshman is good size and runs hard.  On defense, #1 Kapapula is a beast, unless they waste him in pass coverage most of the game like they did last week.  He will put a hit on someone and I know Burke is good at making people miss but he would be wise not to take chances with this one.  The D line has improved and was really good at putting pressure on the QB last week.  the secondary is pretty good too.  Special teams are average at best, kick off coverage is not good, or at least wasnt last week.  It will take a sub par game by Mount for Wesley to win this one.

Still a few folks that need to get their OAC Pick-Em selections in.  And if you need some prodding:

I quite hate these spreads... just making wild guesses this week

That makes it worth it for me!   ;)

Everyone dress warm this weekend ... particularly those going to Bethel.  Brrrrr!
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.
