Burke is kinda good.

Burke is overrated and a product of the system and players around him...said no sane person, EVER, after this game  :o 8-)

Yeah.  He's the difference.

Well, that and a fistful of missed PATs.

Ditto all the above plus the fact that you just can't give up 3 consecutive pass plays like, particularly towards the end.  Those are "killers" (same thing happened to Hope against Albion in the MIAA championship game).  Anyway, I am sorry I could not make it down to the game-this one sure has to rate among the best ever in the playoffs, let alone the semis.  Congrats to both teams.

congrats Mount on a great win in a great game.  Burke refuses to lose.  Top notch effort by NCC.  Snow hampers extra points and is the difference in the game.  See you guys in Salem.

All I could think of on that fourth down throw at the end was that last semi-final loss to UMHB on a Hail Mary.

That is exactly what I was thinking. My first thought to that game came when I saw the field in the 2nd half (couldnt tune in until them). I was in the Middle East following the UMHB/Mount semi on line and remember reading the comments on the snow. Oh well - thankfully this sone had a better outcome. Granted I missed Mounts last scoring drive (the 3 passes).

The announcers for the game in Texas just complained about the sun not being out.

These semifinal games are taking years off my life. UMHB now this?  Great games.

I am with ya!  I too am gonna need those heart ticks back someday!
Just wow! ... I mean WOW!!!

Driving home from the bowels D.C. (JB Anacostia-Bolling) yesterday, in crawling traffic, I passed a commercial work truck with an "NCC" logo.
I said "crap" (but did not really say "crap").
Then only to pull behind a family SUV with some sort of Cardinal logo.  I said what Ralphie said, and it was not "Oh fudge!"
Really not into omens here, but I did not need the extra interest into the game, as I bleed purple (or beef jerky and stout beer, as RC tells me).
Just a fantastic "git er done" win against an outstanding competitor.  The cardinal is a tenacious little bugger ... that is why it is the Ohio state bird!!!
We respect the NCC Cardinals!  Safe journeys back and best wishes ahead!!!

Drat3! For a while, it appeared there would be a Stagg Bowl that didn't feature two teams running around in purple uniforms.  :(

Has the sun been out in the Midwest since Halloween??

Wow, Burke just refuses to lose. Would have loved to see these two squads on a dry warm day.  Both offenses are dynamite.  The NCC receiver is a stud and just out jumped Mount defender for ball on both TDS.
Although this was a great game, it does not, IMO, come near the MHB game from last year.
The elements were the winner today.  It took away some of the best that each team had to offer.
NCC refused to get down, and the Mount special teams were outplayed all day.  Kick and punt returns by NCC were superb and Nemeth off the bench for power was a terrific move by the coaching staff.
A big shout out to the grounds crew under the direction of LK for a fantastic effort on keeping field as playable as weather allowed.  They were the MVP's.

Just back from the game . The best team won today. The conditions seemed to help NCC . NCC had two long kickoff returns,a long punt return and recovered a fumble in the end zone when our punter dropped the ball. Those led to four NCC touchdowns. Burke for the Gag. The defense played very well and got us a key TD in the first half. Call me crazy, but this is the reincarnation of the 1998 team.

And Kevin Burke has "Jim Ballard type" leadership and poise.   The kid has IT.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Just when I thought it would be impossible for a team to be closer to beating Mount without doing so than  Wesley, we get today's NCC game.    Don't know how many more lives this Mount team has left, hopefully one more.    Clutch plays at the last possible moment.   Great win.

Not sure how Burke doesn't get the Gagliardi....dude's a baller.

And that performance was in 10 feet of snow (ok maybe not that much)
