The Mount vs. NCC semi was one of the most entertaining games I have watched in a long time.  Congratulations to both teams for leaving it all on the field.   While the weather was an obvious factor, I believe it impacted both teams equally.   The only area that it seemed to impact NCC more was ion extra points.   At this point in the season, whether it is a missed call or a poor call, a missed extra point or three, they all make a difference.

Let the rhetoric begin, but for one I have enough respect for Mount Union to just say, glad to be going back to Salem and see our friends from Ohio again.   Let the players sort it out on the field next Friday night.

Congrats on getting  a ticket to your home away from home!!  I will see you'all as usual on Wednesday at the Gagliardi award presentation.  I sure hope Coach L Kehres (emeritus/retired) will accompany the Mount Union contingency to their southern home base. It looks like old times as the other team has their home sweet southern home in Salem too.  UWW assures the Stag Bowl of its traditional all purple extravaganza.  I am looking forward to renewing acquaintances with my D3 post pattern friends. I'm staying at the Holiday. INN-Express this year instead of the Days Inn. Looking to next week--my Christmas present to me
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

And Kevin Burke has "Jim Ballard type" leadership and poise.   The kid has IT.

I agree that Kevin Burke is something very special.  He might not have the physician tools that others have, but he has both mental and physical toughness.  Kevin is a real gamer and a strong leader.  I agree with HScoach that the kid has IT.  I had the privilege of watch the game Kevin's grandma and uncle.  They and everyone in the room were excited so excited  when did what we all asked him to do...orchestrate a touchdown drive with 1:38 left on the clock and darn if he didn't do it in 31 seconds of clock.

Yes. Absolutely agree in the strongest possible terms.

They don't. Mount decided to save money since they are in Salem every year and built an extra dorm.

Mount getting breaks early with the flags going their way.  Brings back a TD and nullifies an INT.  Offenses having no issues moving the ball.

I was at the game up in the Dom Capers press box provides a great view of the game and the two calls you referenced were clearly seen by all in the press box.  There were many obvious holding calls by ncc that we're not called especially the 4th goal touchdown to the north end zone in which the back was able to clear the end of the line of scrimmage after the Mount defender was tackled.

Overall the game was a good fought battle by two D3 heavyweights and officiating didn't impact the overall outcome

OK, before anyone else feels that they need to defend Mount winning the game, my point was very simple - the flags whether legit or not helped Mount at the point in the game.  A TD was called back and an INT was nullified.  I never said that MOUNT was getting the calls because they were MOUNT, just that they got breaks with the flags.  No flag on either play and MOUNT is in trouble at that point in the game.  Some of you are way too sensitive when it comes to posts that you interpret to be attacking MOUNT and saying they get breaks.

It was a great game and I totally enjoyed watching it, wish I had been there.  I agree, both calls should have been made, but if not the game changes and maybe the outcome does also.

Boy you don't have to say that again. I am a Mount fan, but as soon as I question Mounts chances in a game - BAM! I get your point(s) though. I saw alot of holding on both sides of the ball as well - hell NCC pretty much tackled the Mount Dline on the one score. But I think alot of it was product of the weather - and I think that is why alot of it went uncalled. On the kicking game - I have read some post on NCC essentially losing it due to missed PATs. That may be true - but without the crappy weather Mount gets that punt away instead of having it recovered for a score. So I guess what I am saying is that the weather may have cost NCC a few PATs but it gave them a TD - so it was still a +3 for them.

If NCC had paid attention to the Lions/Eagles game, they would not have attempted to kick PATs.  The NCC kicker is good, but not NFL good.  In the game in Philly, only ONE PAT kick was attempted, and it was blocked.  GO FOR TWO, not for the sake of piling up points, but because some chance at two beats the heck out of almost guaranteed zero. :P

But, um, Mount's kicker was 3/4 on extra points.

Just sayin'.

The NCC kicker holds virtually every kicking record kept at NC.  I can't fault the coaches from giving him a shot, even in bad weather.  Heck, he has three 50+ yard field goals in his career  including a 56 yarder this season. Right call, it just didn't work out.

The game was in Alliance.  Mount has heating coils under the kicking spot, which can be turned on or off depending on which team has that end zone.  You didn't know that??!! ;D

Craft_Beermeister

I heard at the game that ncc pulled out all stops to prep for the game.  Apparently on journey to the Alliance  they stopped at Notre Damn and rented out their practice facility.

Yes, and also at Massillon's indoor practice facility.
