Just as a heads up...ESPNU is broadcasting the replay of both games next week. The Raiders and NCC is on Wednesday the 18th at 1PM and the WW UMHB game is on Thursday the 19th  at 1PM so get those DVR's cranked up. :D

Just wanted to let everybody know that you can watch the NCC-UMU replay NOW.  You don't have to wait until later in the week to see it.  The replay is on "Watch ESPN" (NOT THE ESPN.com site). Just go to Watch ESPN and then go to the bottom and click on 'Site Map'. Then the next screen will come up. Scroll down to 'College Studio".  Then scroll down to NCAA college football.  There you will see  div-3 Semifinal, North Central vs. Mount Union.  Click on it then click on  'replay'.  Be advised that the kickoff  isn't covered, espn's scoreboard graphics don't show up until just after the 16 minute mark and  there isn't any sound until you get just past the 23 minute mark. Then it improves. You can watch it whenever you want.  (Haven't seen the Whitewater-UMHB replay on this site yet)  Hope this helps.  Enjoy!

If you go on ESPN's website, you can go to the College Football Scoreboard - Week 16, Drop-down box to get to Div II/III - you get the score for both semi-final games (along with some D2 scores).  There is a "Replay" click available to watch the ESPN3 broadcast from Saturday.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Brett Elliott lost his last college football game to the same program you are now claiming has, "absolutely," no chance to beat MUC because of another fantastic QB.  Maybe not a good example.  But faulty logic aside, I totally agree that Elliot was an incredibly talented and very special athlete. One of the best, at any level, IMHO, and I was honored to watch him work his magic against us in 05. I have only watched Burke once, against NCC, under crazy conditions, and together with how impressed the MUC faithful are with his abilities and their comments about how he has," carried the team this  year," I have no doubt, your comparison of the two maybe accurate. The difference I see, between the two, is that Elliot was a prolific passer while Burke seems to be a huge dual threat making magic with both his feet and his arm.  I just question using it to claim the winner 5 days before the teams take the field.
Let me be honest here, I never expected the Warhawks to make it this far and still not buying into the WIWA statement, completely, but if there was ever a team who supports the ,"defense wins championships," saying, this years version of the Hawks may well be it. It has been our defense that many games, "has carried this team." So if we can get enough pressure on Burke and win the line of scrimmage, what, IMHO, made us successful in 07 against another fantastic MUC quarterback, certainly, we have a chance.  This team doesn't seem to have the consistency and offensive flash of some previous Stagg teams, but they have done enough, every game, all season, so we will see if, with the help of another great Warhawk defense, they can do enough again.
Hoping for safe travels to all and a great, injury free game between two championship worthy opponents.   8-)

Must have missed that QB Micheli, wasn't asked to do as much as Burke but every bit as good, if not better than Elliott.

great article btw by D3football

The current plan is for Jr. & I to get to Salem around 1 ish on Friday.  We will hit the hotel quick to check-in, and then head to the tailgate.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone, as I haven't been down the last three years due to stupid company Christmas parties.  Now that I work for myself.....poof....problem solved!   ;D

I am one that has picked UWW against Linfield, and again vs. MHB.  I am sold on how good their defense is against anyone.  This will be the classic GREAT offense vs. GREAT defense.  As in previous Staggs with these two teams it might just come down to the kicking game (which UWW has won in recent years), and turnovers.

After reading of the many incredible plays and watching him play Saturday, I can see why people feel Burke simply won't allow his team to lose.  We IL folk had a guy like that in Michael Jordan (just comparing the feeling of fans feeling so strongly about a single player in a team game) and it is amazing to watch.

This will be fun to watch.  A UWW defense with a tradition of success against guys like Brett Elliott and Greg Micheli.  A Mt offense led by a QB that seems to have the accuracy of both QB's mentioned but even better escapability.

Good stuff.

Still a coin flip if I will make it or not. If I do, I would enjoy meeting some of you lovely internet football nerds.

Bobert and I will get there about 6:00.  We'll be easy to spot ... we'll be wearing purple!   ;)

Mount Union is asking everyone to wear white.  Every thing I have is purple or black & purple.  If you have white, wear it.
