Regretably I am not making the trip to Salem this year...Imagine my dismay when I realized tonight is Anderson Varejao bobble head night at the "Q".........How could I miss that? ??? ??? ??? ???

Safe travels to all and GO RAIDERS all the way! ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

After 14 games, I still don't know what to expect from this team except improbable wins.     I believe UWW will score on Mount,  everyone else has, the question in my mind is how much we can score on them.     We struggled against any defense we saw with speed in front 7 and UWW will be the fastest.   And bigger at LB too.    Which will severely limit Burke's rushing/scrambling.    If Wesley can stop Mitchell, i cringe at what UWW will do.   And yes, I remember that BJ had 134 yards, but onlt averaged 2.5 after the first carry.  O-line has to play out their arses to protect Burke because I see the only method of moving the ball is thru the air.   If Mount wins, it will be because Burke carried them there.     In Burke we trust.   Go Mount!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I kept writing and deleting what I wanted to say to explain these numbers, but eventually decided to sit on the back porch and let the rest of you figure it out!
The numbers seem to favor Mount, but the passing defense is problematic for the Raiders.  Another classic in the works.

Go Raiders! 22.12.13

Out of curiosity, in what way?

Mount scores 13.2 more points than UWW while only giving up 10.3 more points per game. That would lead me to believe points scored favors Mount Union by 2.9 points. How did you not see that?  8-)

Usually I say throw the numbers out the window, but in this case, the numbers add to allure of what could be an epic match up!

Especially since Mount Union plays in a much stronger conference.

Now that's funny

Key to victory IMHO.....one word ;D Logan Nemeth   Use him.FGS ;)

One more key to victory.... Find some one in the defensive for Tre Jones to stand on. Maybe one of the linebackers can follow him into coverage and he can jump up on his shoulders just before he looks back for the ball.? ::)

Jake Kumerow @ 6'5"
Tyler Huber @ 6' 2"
Chris Davis @ 6' 6"

Is that even legal? :o

Good Luck UMU!! Not that I have anything against UWW----I have great respect for them.  However, I would like to sit around all off season and believe that North Central is the 2nd best team in the nation this year!!

UMU doesn't have to worry much about Davis catching any balls. He doesn't get targeted much. UWW's TE threat is Derric Junakin @ 6'3" 285lbs.

I was watching a little of the Mt. Union/North Central on replay the other day.  Does Mt. Union run that Pistol/Spread every play on offense, or do they mix it up like they usually do in terms of formations and concepts?

Junakin is only 285?  Thought he'd be a little bigger after seeing him last week.  Also thought he was taller than 6'3.  He's a big, big man.

Hot coffee, folks, it's game day!

Go Raiders go!!!

They played around with Burke under center occassionally early in the season when they were trying anything and everything to get the running game going.  But what you saw in the NCC is pretty much the offense and has been for a while.  Burke is always in the shotgun unless it's victory formation.  There are rarely 2 backs with him.  And we haven't seen much of the true TE Lane Clark.  They're almost exclusively shotgun, single back, 4 WR.

Since you asked I'll answer.  I don't expect you to agree.

Rushing O, passing O, and total O all favor the Raiders.  Whitewater has the better D, but I do not believe they can keep Mount's O from scoring, as long as the Raiders don't get too conservative.  What concerns me, as I stated before, is Mount's pass D vs. Whitewater's pass O.  If Mount can't stop those big receivers, or get good pressure than it will be a long evening for Mount's D, and a win for the Warhawks.  If Mount can solve their problems on pass defense, then I think they win.  That's the long explanation of my earlier statement.
12-0 = 13

It's GAMEDAY!!!! In Kevin Burke We Trust. Go Raiders.

It's awfully quiet in here...must be the combination of a great tailgate and a workday.

Desertraider

Saw this in the Review and thought it was worth a read:
http://www.the-review.com/mount%20union%20sports/2013/12/20/kehres-recalls-watching-raiders-win-first-stagg-bowl-title-20-years-ago

It is game day ladies and gentlemen! The game, for all those not going, is on ESPNU - which essentially translates to "ESPNU-can't-watch-unless-U-have-it-added-to-your-cable-package-for-a-lot-more-money". I still love that the WatchESPN board on their site is "Powered by WOW" - but WOW is not one of the cable providers on the list. So I can not even watch the game on my computer. Anyway------

It's game day! To the RAIDERS! Fight! Dig-in and fight! Nothing left in the tank when its over - there can be only ONE and that ONE is a RAIDER!!! Pillage and plunder til the Warhawks are 6 feet under!!

To the Warhawks - umm I got nothing. I hope no one gets hurt and its a good game - and you lose. But - no offense intended.
RIP MUC57 - Go Everybody!

WHAT DAY IS IT?????  HUH......HUH...WHAT DAY IS IT???  IT'S STAGG BOWL DAY!!!!

Just hit town.  Saw my usual 5 or 6 carloads of Mount fans at the Tamarack rest stop on the WV turnpike.  It's the "go to" stop for most Mount fans driving.

Folks at the hotel said "welcome back, we are so glad you guys are here AGAIN".

Heading to the tailgate in about an hour.  Catch up with any and all that are there.

Go MOUNT!
