Kira & Jaxon's Dad

Just was looking around the Mount Union Wrestling Site and saw that they finished up their regular season with a serious butt whopping of Muskingum.

Remembering that Coach Montgomery's son, Joe, is the head wrestling coach at Muskingum, I took a look at the match scores, and Muskingum forfeited 7 out of the 10 matches.

Tough to make it through a season where you only have 3 wrestlers the last conference dual of the year.

QB's can be very good recruits.  In high school they are typically some of the better athletes and as such can transition to other positions (i.e. Dbacks, wideouts among others)  more easily.

It looks like that most recent kid played WR/DB up until his senior year when he played QB.  It also said he's a 1000 pt scorer in basketball so probably pretty athletic.

Mount has 2 WR's now that came in as QB's and obviously with Shorts and Miller two great success stories of HS QB's that changed positions.

Recruit every QB you can.  Some end up as stud MLB's (Matt LeVerde) or TE's (Kyle Miller)
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Point well taken. I agree. Chapman has several QB's at other positions. They adapt quickly and feel it is better than sitting on the bench waiting for playing time, and are real team players that understand all facets of the game. Plus K to you.

And,

Jake Vormelker  6-1  180  QB  Orwell, OH

LOTS of QB's so far....

talks about the JCU game atmosphere being a big deal on his visit.  Thankfully Mount gets the Jesuits at home again in 2014 and we can have another standing room only crowd.  Having some big OAC games ('berg is at Mount as well) will definitely help with recruiting the 2015 class.  Atmosphere and all the extra aspects (uniforms, social media, etc) of college football are going to be more and more important with the new generation of recruits.

With the deportation of Seventies and very few over-the-top posters anymore, PS really stands alone.  The only reason most UW-W posters don't respond more, let us say, vehemently, to his anti-everything UW-W posts is out of respect for the Mount Union football program and the other posters who pretty much all seem like decent and good folks.

Unfortunately, if Mount loses tomorrow and to UW-W wins, he will either:

1. Disappear for awhile.
2. Talk about how 11 is greater than 4.
3. Talk about 2012.
4. Or find other, more creative ways to dis UW-W.

Personally, I hope it's number 4. The first 3 are getting a bit old.

You should have went with #1 bleed.

Glad to have you back after a two month (post Stagg Bowl) hiatus, PS.  ;D 8-)

I love tradition as much as anyone, but I like what they've done so far.  The new white and purple tops look good.  The black pants look sharp with the purple jerseys.  Next up should be some fresh black jerseys.  I don't know that the block Raiders logo is going away though.  The athletic department is increasing that usage as it's now on the basketball court and most of the teams' practice gear.  They could keep the logo and put it on a flat black helmet or something though.   You're 100% right though, that kind of stuff matters to kids so do it up.

sorry for the hiatus during the offseason/non-recruit time.  I didnt see much reason to check back in with my favorite D3 cheeseheads.  Mount got embarrassed, it was bound to happen with the worst defense I have ever seen at Mount.

The "hiatus" had very little to do with Mount's lackluster performance.  The job picks up and the other 37 weeks of the year projects make d3boards a lower priority.

But 11 is still more than 4 and losing to Buff State/not making playoffs with a national championship team is still worse than biffing the national title game.  I congratulate UWW on 2013, but both programs have been embarrassed recently.  We shall see if Mount can bounce back like UWW, despite our tuition and standards.

Good luck Warhawks
