I feel like if they were going to beat Mount last year was their best shot.  First year head coach, all new offense with no LK guiding them, a young unproven D and the game at Berg.  This year they've got an offense that's going to be absolutely loaded at the skill positions and a D that is very experienced and should be much better.  The biggest challenge will be duplicating the great effort they had against Brooks last year.  That was impressive.

Any word out of Tiffin. Coach Mike showed me the new stadium a couple weeks back, but knows where my allegiances lay.

One of the projected Starting Offensive Lineman for the Student Princes stopped in our weight room this summer.  He played HS ball for our Head Coach.  I had to give him the business about MTU vs HU.

His opinion was that this was the year for HU to beat Mount.  He heard rumors that Mount's recruiting was down and that VK had an illness and they would be able to finally defeat the Raiders.

I'm not so sure about the rumors he heard and am looking forward to the continuation of the OAC Championship Streak!

From what I heard. recruiting was very good? :-\

Ha!  Well played, suit.  +k for the chuckle.

Berg is going to be a good team again this year.  They have some playmakers for certain.  But at the risk of beating a dead horse, they simply aren't good enough defensively.  They never have been.  Mount (44 points, 654 yds) and JCU (48 points, 475 yds) both shredded their D.  If they want to finish anywhere but 3rd place again in 2014 they have to make some major strides defensively because Burke and Myers didn't graduate.

HScoach

One could argue (and be right in my opinion) that Mount's defense wasn't nearly good enough last year to win the OAC either.  Except for the magic of Burke and Company it wouldn't have been.

I agree with the good doctor.  I expect Mount to be better on both sides of the ball this season.   The question remains to see whether they're good enough along the line of scrimmage to be championship quality, or just Top 5 like last year.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I expect the recruiting was effective and some of the freshman will have an affect on the Varsity. At minimum, they will push the Upperclassmen to excel at higher levels throughout the year, in the playoffs and in the championship game.

How did you know my year has been going so well?   Work is booming, wife hasn't kicked me out yet, my 2 boys are growing up quite well in spite of their father and the daughter is engaged to a great young Marine from our church.   Yup, this is definitely my year.

Two more dropped off roster.  Jeffrey Jurgenmeister (RB)-Nevada and Brian May (OL)-PA

Another two have dropped off the roster:
1) Angelo Lombardo from Kenton, Ohio. A wide reciever (5' 8", 160 lbs.)
2) Zack Tinsley from North Huntington, PA. A running back

Does anyone know names of the freshman who were pulled up so far?

HScoach,

Any idea when a 2-deep depth chart will be out, even preliminary? Curious who is K. Burke's back-up (Scott ?), then what the WR slot are, Namdar, Scott?

I don't recall this being posted here before; Otterbein getting turf and new track.  Looks like the track will eliminate the vis side bleachers.  No big loss.

Good heavens, why are you OAC'ers always having trouble with the quote function? This isn't rocket surgery.

"We ain't come here to play school, classes are POINTLESS"

- Cardale Jones

ExTartanPlayer:

I'm a little late in seeing this and to the discussion, however, I love the quote! +k

It reminds me of the quote I heard one time on one of my own recruiting trips with my dad back in my playing days that was said to us from the secretary at a big-time college football office (a DI school, the name of which I will keep anonymous).  After walking in, in referring to the head coach, she stated "he has not camed in yet".  Great. ::) :P ;D ;)

Anyway, thanks for the hilarious quote-very funny. (And I liked HS's reply also!   I feel the same way about myself sometimes. :)

I just had a feeling.  That's great -- especially about the wife not kicking you out yet and your daughter's engagement.

One question -- how many times a year does lightning hit your church while you are in it.. :)

Congrats.
