Mount up 14-3 after a kind of sloppy offensive quarter again this week.  2 turnovers already.  Scott was hit from behind and fumbled to set up the BW FG.  Burke also had a ball deflected at the LOS and picked off.

Mount looks sloppy...two turnovers and uninspired effort this far...

Dr. Acula

This thing is falling apart quickly on BW.  After the 2 early turnovers the Mount offense is doing pretty much whatever they want now.

Dr. Acula

42-3 at the half.  BW has 46 yards and 3 first downs.  Raiders pushing towards 400 yards already.

After a slow start pbears up 23 to 5 at half...returned blocked pat
Why the defense ain't werkin'?

59-3 final from Berea.  Quick thoughts:

The Mount offense had 3 turnovers (and a 2nd fumble that they fell on).  They had I believe 2 scores negated by flags including a 68 yd strike to Namdar.  The flip side is that they still ran and passed pretty much at will.  Mitchell was great again (143 yds on 12 carries, 2 scores).  Burke was good outside of the 2 mishaps (25-35, 301, 3 TD).

It seemed like they were making quite an effort to get the ball in Scott's hands.  I'm guessing his 10 catches is a season high and it wasn't an accident.  They went to him early and often.

The defense played great again albeit against a sub-par offense.  They got good pressure from the D line today.  Gonell played really well too.  He was around the ball all day.

Ruhnke made a 44 yarder.  And I believe they said it was into the wind.  That kid has a pretty impressive leg on him.  Nice option to have in the playoffs.

Good to see Meacham have a nice day (3 grabs, 64 yds).  I have a feeling we're going to hear from him next week.  Namdar and Scott have been the shiny new toys, but against a very good JCU D someone like Meacham tends to step up.  He's a senior who has been there before.  Guys like that seem to show up in the big games.

Ruhnke's 44 yard field goal may be a new school record.  I think the record was 42 which he shared with two others.

The record is 47 yards.  He tied during the Wilmington game.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Triple Take always has a "which top 25 team is most likely to lose" question.  I wonder if any of the guys this week will have the nerve to say 'Mount Union'?  Unless we have been totally led astray, John Carroll will be BY FAR their sternest test of the season, and they DO lose about one regular season game a decade, and don't yet have a loss this decade, so ...

I know HCAlum already has a score prediction. I believe it was JCU 27 UMU 24 based on JCU having better talent and being the best team in the state of Ohio. Not sure exactly what that all means...oh I know!! It translates to (drumroll!!!): "Mount hasn't seen a team like JCU". Never heard that one before! Let JCU week begin  ;D

I just want to thank Mount Union's Opponents who have provided live streaming of the games this year for free.

Let's this FL boy see the Raiders.

I also thank the opponents who streamed Mount Union Games.  It is great if you can't make the game.  I even started to check in on WWW, Linfield, St John's and others that we have played thru the years and it is a great way to get a peek.
SB Nation started a series on their website called "Origins" and they picked Pierre Garcon for a feature.  Very well done and worth the visit to the site. I would link it here, but I am technically challenged.
