I agree with Suit here. If/when Mount takes care of business on Saturday, they will jump to #2 and secure home field through the playoffs. Interesting thought, if JCU prevails Saturday, where do each of those teams end up in the rankings? Do they simply switch spots?

My completely random wild guess (see my Pick Em ranking). KB refuses to lose in his last regular season home start of his career and puts the offense on his back. 300 yards passing & 100 yards rushing.

Mount Union - 38
JCU - 28

Either way the game should be another classic, and let's all enjoy watching these two premier D-III QB's duke it out.

Why the defense ain't werkin'?

PurpleSuit

last year Meacham, Nicholls and Gainer tore up the JCU defense.  This year's offense is immensely more explosive with Namdar and Wilkinson on the outside and Scott in the slot.  Mitchell even seems to have another gear this year out of the backfield.  Mount will hit 50 on Saturday.  Myers is going to need the game of his life to give JCU a shot.  He can do it, but I think Mount will generate enough pressure to keep JCU off of the scoreboard more often than not.

Don't think this year's Raider defense gives up that many points, IMHO

Went to the JCU Otterbein game Saturday.  I was not that impressed with JCU.  They are very good team but they are not at the same level as UMU IMO.  I went with a friend who has a son on Otterbein and he said the same thing.  He expects Mount to win by 20+.  I think I agree.  Against Otterbein the middle was open all day long.  For some reason though the Otterbein coaches only called the slant across the middle 3 times and it worked each time.  Nothing much else worked. JCU was good at defending the perimiters but the middle was open for the run and pass at least in that game.

Good afternoon OAC folks!

Skunk & I are making an appearance this weekend, but boy was I surprised that Mount is no longer selling single advance tickets for this game.  I think the JCU folks have been purchasing tickets for the last few weeks.  Anyway, we will stand along the fence in an end zone if necessary.  I think this will be a barn-burner, and here's hoping all are healthy on both sides for this one.

Breakfast margaritas at the usual spot before the game.

You could be right.  But, we are going to learn alot about UMU's 2014 defense at about the same time as they are learning about themselves on Saturday.  Meaning -- this is the first legit test Mount Union has had in 2014.

We are seeing two teams which mirror eachother:
*GREAT QB
*Stud WR's
*Solid Defenses that have been dominant against NOBODYS in 2014.

I just feel like this is going to be a shootout.  I feel like Myers will turn in an Arth-like performance and it will be that type of game.  To me, neither team has proven anything really thus far and I'm sure they'll tell you their seasons start on Saturday.  I wish I could be there but thats not possible to drive the 5 hours up with a 7 month old in tow.  I'll just have to bother Hscoach with constant text messages.  If you hear his phone going off while Ric is talking, thats me blowing him up.

Hscoach,

How is Ric doing this year?  I haven't heard from him much on the social media sites, let alone this page.  Tell him hi for me.

Been good.  Just real busy.  Had a fun high school season on the offensive side but we were inept on D and lost too many game because of it.

I also got to work with the most talented QB I've ever coached for or against.  Here's his highlights if someone wants to watch some video.

Have been keeping track of things in the OAC including an up and down season for the Polar Bears but have been quiet here.  ONU should finish 7-3 but those three losses were so different and hard to get a pulse on what the team really is or is capable of.

Kid's got a strong arm and is accurate as well.  Also has some nice runs.  Any offers?

Rich Rod wants him at UofA but as a preferred walk-on.  He only started full-time as a senior so he wasn't on anyone's radars.  He's getting attention from the SCIAC schools too (mostly because someone that coaches him writes for D3football.com and covers the SCIAC schools ;)  ).  He's a 4.3 GPA kid though and doesn't want to spend a year or two in JUCO.

In my opinion, he's the best QB in the state of Arizona but my opinion doesn't get him anywhere.  I've reached out to a lot of coaches in my network but not getting the traction I'd like.
