I just checked out the boxscore from the UWW/Maclester game. Macalester had 22 first downs, 354 total offense and was +11 in TOP....lost 55-2. Until you get to the score it looks like they played a decent game.
Check out the Scholastica/St. Johns and Witt/Wash & Jeff games as well.  8 ints for both QBs -- tying the NCAA record --  but the winning team didn't take the best of the opportunity.

Hmmmmm!

PAC 12 officials are famous for screwing the opponents of their teams.

You also don't have go take a knee to give yourself up, the rules state you can just place the ball on the ground and give yourself up and back away too. Either way the officials blew the whistle, didn't do anything for about 10 seconds and then stopped Wisconsin from snapping the ball with 5 seconds left on the clock, they completely screwed up.

The rules do state that but that's still not the "typical" way to do it.  And by being atypical, there was a brief chaos.  To say the officials "stopped Wisconsin from snapping the ball with five seconds left" could be argued too.  The official over the ball blew it obviously but the center was clueless to the clock running and didn't attempt to snap it until there was 1-2 seconds on the clock upon hearing Stave call for the snap ASAP.  Stave didn't even look up to see the clock running until there was three seconds on the clock and he tried to rush his unit to clock it.

As I said, the officials deserve blame but this one so wasn't cut and dry either.  If Stave uses normal "take a knee" mechanics, no one jumps on that football and there's plenty of time to spike the ball.

And a few plays before that play, the same officials "that screw PAC-12 opponents" missed a call in favor of the Badgers by about 25 yards when a Wisconsin receiver stepped out around the 50 but was missed by officials and an additional 25 yards were gained on that play.  Officials are imperfect and they made mistakes both ways in what was a sloppy game for the previous 59 minutes too.  What's done is done.

Have to disagree with you RC about the official "stopping" the badgers from snapping the ball. Your video is the best evidence to confirm what we are saying. Go to the :26 mark...the official is standing over the ball with his right hand extended from his body toward the badger center in the internationally recognized gesture everyone uses as "stop" and there are still three seconds on the clock. He didn't lower his arm/hand and move back out of the way until the clock read :00. How can you say the officials didn't stop them from snapping the ball. Ready or not ready, the center was not permitted to snap the ball by the actions of that official. It's as clear as day.  To bed, to bed, to bed!

Since the 'official' time is kept on the field and the refs already have wireless capacity, why not take the home cooking out of the equation by eliminating the home clock operator? Technology has eliminated the need already. Unless you believe some 11 year old hacker can adversly  affect that system. ::)

Was it technology that caused a lower than usual turnout for a playoff game yesterday? I actually know of one case where somebody did not want to buy tickets online and stayed home because they could not call the boxoffice to purchase a ticket. There are a lot of greyhairs among UMU fans and they may prefer to operate the good old fashioned way!

I will miss the next playoff game because of having to go into work Saturday to make up for the holiday. Cant the NCAA start the games a little later, especially after a holiday? :( >:( >:( ??? :'(

It BETTER be tape delayed !

MHB Texas Lutheran game was delayed late last night with resuming play at 11AM today.  Imagine that.... it si every college football player's dream to play a meaningful game on Sunday.

The game was suspended early in second quarter with Texas Lutheran in position to score.

I do not know how far Texas Lutheran is from Belton but it seems having to come back a day later after being up late seems to be a big obstacle.

117 miles.

I would hope that the NCAA put up the team for the night.

I am sure Pete Fredenburg and the rest of the Cru at the very least made room for TLU somewhere on campus.

Up until the game was suspended at just past 10:30 last night they were focused on still getting the game in so I doubt they had a lot of time to work on contingency plans.  Closest hotels are in Temple and I go there on business and know that at times hotel rooms can be hard to get.  Plus how many teams pack for staying over night.  Emotions can get the visiting through the adversity of the delay but at same time emotions can be very draining.  It sounds like the game so far was a good one with TLU trailing 14-10 and driving when game was stopped.  TLU had a pick6 called back earlier in the game as well.

My guess is the delay gives MHB a chance to regroup and wins, but one never knows because this is uncharted territory.

At least you haven't been called for intentional grounding in the end zone resulting in a safety when the pass was thrown from the 4 yard line.

I watched the highlights and the open side looked Wilmington-esque.  Loooot of available seats.  And with the holiday there will be next to no students there Saturday.

Several of the Mount posters have mentioned that in past years, the first couple of playoff games there always have less attendance than in preceding weeks, in part being that it is close to the holiday and even later on being close to final exams.  However, I, too, was surprised to see the announced crowd being lower than it usually is for their first round game.  In addition, I noticed that for the DIII playoffs overall yesterday, the attendance at games was extremely low with the exception of a couple of the games.  Not sure if that was simply due to the weather or perhaps additional factors as well.
