Happy Thanksgiving Mount guys.  If things play out as expected it looks like I will be making another trip to Alliance to see if Wesley can finally get over the Raider hump and get to the Stagg Bowl.  You have an interesting game this week, Wash and Jeff is playing well.  Next weeks opponent will also be tough.  At least it looks like Mount will have to play a competitive game in one of these weeks.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, especially thanks to Pat, Keith, and staff for your work on this wonderful site.  It is so appreciated by all who frequent and those who even hit and go.
This veteran also passes his condolences and thoughts to the JOEY RILEY family.  The ultimate sacrifice for us and our country.  We can all live our lives because of men like him.

Bceagle80 I always enjoy reading your post and the insight you share about your son on the team.  As son being one of the freshman players on the team do they participate in the practices since the end of the regular season?  If so I would think that it would be a positive thing for their continued development, great experience gained from learning how playoff prep is done, and the additional solidarity gained as the further enhance their feelings on being part of a special team.

spurrier says "Get your OAC Pick-Em selections in by noon tomorrow!"

spurrier says "Where my Polar Bears at?"

spurrier says "Hope you had a great Thanksgiving"

spurrier asks "How can spurrier talk in the fourth person?"

spurrier repeats "Get your OAC Pick-Em selections in by noon tomorrow!"

[ ;) Happy Turkey Day, Brian!]
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Why the defense ain't werkin'?

W&J forced 9 turnovers against Wittenberg last week.  How many do you think they will get against Mount Union and do you think that will be enough?

I woul agree. These young men have worked hard all year and would benefit from continurd work against the varsity. Not all freshman are practicing against the varsity. Some are now into their winter workouts to get bigger, faster, stronger for spring ball and next year. They all get to attend the home games on the sidelines (not in uniform).

When your son was being recruited was the fact that teams like Mount Union yearly go far in the playoffs year after year presenting an opportunity to get in several more weeks of quality practices have any impact in decision process?  Going up against quality players and practicing with them for several weeks has to be a plus.  I just wonder if there was any thoughts about it during recruiting.

Bennett Rank has a web site that ranks college teams in Div1 through Div3 in multiple sports.  The site uses multiple tools to rank teams including an  algorithm uses a version of a statistical process called regression analysis to determine teams' relative strengths.  HScotch is an engineer so he could probably explain the details of regression analysis.

In any event, for this week BennetRank has Mount Union has the highest ranked D3 team followed by Whitewater, Linfield, Wartberg, John Carol, UMHB, Wesley, St John Fisher, Widener, and Buffalo State in order for top 10.

The best game based on their prediction is #3 Winfield at #6 UMHB.

Other games of OAC importance are #39 W&J at Mount Union and #5 JCU at #55 Weaton.

Craft, that was good until I saw that Fisher, Widener, and Buff St. are in the top 10.  At that point it loses most of the credibility no matter how they figure it out.  The W&J and Wheaton rankings are also a bit off IMO.

I think you have a good game today.  I will be interested to see if W&J can stay in this game.  They are playing pretty well and stayed with Mount somewhat last year.  Enjoy the game and good luck to both teams.
