I think there is a rule, but you would have to convince JCU that they are not above the NCAA rules.  Trust me, it's a chore.  If JCU doesn't believe,  then it's a stupid rule.

LOL -  Your hatred for JCU is deep, my man.  I feel the same way about MSJ, even though we don't play them anymore.

Anyhow -- this really made me LOL at work.  People think I'm crazy, I'm sure.  +K

Now, please pray for Lauren Hill.  Thank you.

JCU will not matter one bit to Mount fans after Saturday for a few more years, again.  Lauren Hill has cemented her legacy for years to come.

Mount has never streamed games, likely the lone d3 team with a tv deal.  No matter how upsetting it is to people in MN or such.

Mount Union DID stream two of their home games this year.  I paid to watch the Mount Union vs. John Carroll game via Boxcast ($9.99).

The video feed cut out during mount union's last drive, right before they scored so I didn't get to see the drive nor the JCU attempt to spike the ball at the end.

Feed was decent while working, had Tate, Paidas and Ballard announcing.

never streamed free like 99% of the rest of D3.  Pat and the gang love to rip Mount for not giving away a product that people are willing to pay for.  If its on tv, its not going to be given away by Mount.  I dont believe Mount TV is covering the game, sounds like JCU is trying to make a buck for their last game of the year

I wonder if you would still be apologetic to this if it was JCU or Whitewater with the deal and not Mount?

And before I get a karma kick to the head - I did some checking on Squash. Yes the NESCAC has a number of National Championships in squash HOWEVER, only 33 schools have varsity squash teams. The 33 schools are in 3 conferences: Liberty, Ivy, and NESCAC (all decidedly East Coast) with 11 teams in each conference. Gives the NESCAC a 1 in 3 shot at a National Champ every year. I am just saying its not a nation -wide sport.

I only count Division III sports in my analysis, so let's not get sidetracked with silly stuff, folks.

Cannot charge for an NCAA postseason game. That is indeed the rule.

I never ripped Mount Union for offering pay-per-view, nor when Linfield does the same. Barking up the wrong tree there, suit.

Agree, I've never seen Pat nor any other D3FB rep complaining about this.  Mostly from Mount Union Fans (including me) and Opponent Fans who don't live close enough to travel to the games on a regular basis.

Also your (purplesuit's) original statement was "Mount has never streamed games..." and they have tried it twice this season via boxcast.  Probably a trial to see if it was worth it by charging.  I didn't purchase it for the Heidelberg game but was for the JCU one.  Unfortunately, the video stream cut out a the most important part of the game.

I don't weigh in here a lot, but my hope for this weekend is that all of the fans comport themselves with dignity and pride in their team.  As we look at events around the world and think about people like Ms. Hill and her family, I hope we can all remember that, ultimately, this is just a game.

you don't rip Mount for not streaming games? I never said you rip Mount for PPV, rather not streaming at all Mr D3

If that's what you meant to say then you certainly chose poor wording.

I didn't complain about Mount Union doing PPV -- heck, I even promoted it on the front page because I felt it was a product worth promoting, and we had never promoted a PPV broadcast before.

Clever to bold everything in my statement except "like 99% of d3" to help your opinion.  Thanks for the d3 website and coverage but what a joke

Enrollment wise, Whitewater is much closer to D1 than D2.

Here are Division I FBS programs with fewer undergraduate students than Whitewater:

Tulsa
Rice
Air Force
Navy
Army
Wake Forest
Duke
Stanford
Vanderbilt
SMU
Louisiana-Monroe
Tulane
Notre Dame
Northwestern
Boston College
Louisiana Tech
Idaho
TCU

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Given that they have a massive student body and an insanely low cost of attendance, University of Wisconsin schools should compete and win national titles in every sport every season.

Great point I feel never gets brought up much. uww is a very atypical d3 school.
Id have to check the numbers but I wouldn't be surprised if they had better attendance than YSU thia year.

Another intereating facts is the all the colleges in the state are d3 except Wisconsin -Madison. I always wonder if that gives the WIAC a recruiting advantages since guys who want to go to school in state and play ball don't have the options like Ohio players do
