Great game.  We saw today that Mount Union may have the best special teams in D3. Our return game accounted for 174 yards, compared to 44 for JCU. How about Kevin Burke?  The kid is magic. I couldn't see what the JCU guys did at the end that got them whacked by the officials. What happened? Once again, our punter drops a punt inside the 5,and another on the 10. Special teams coach was coach of the game. Hey H.S.Coach....did Vince and his boys outcoach JCU today?  I would never have dreamed we would dominate the line of scrimmage after what happened in Game One. How did they do it?

Toph and JCU, great team, great season. What talented receivers, qb and defense. Well-rounded  in all areas and great heart. I was prepared to support you  with pride going forward, had the outcome been different today. Great respect. Proud of the OAC representation in quarter-final playoffs.

Lenny or someone else, any idea when FXSTO might air the replay of today's game?

I just checked the entire week's play list -- doesn't show.  Lots of High School games but not this game.  Priorities?

Raiders get Wesley next week. Linfield gets....Wartburg?? 33-16 wartburg leading late 3rd.

Don't jinx it ... Wartburg in a 3-and-out and UWW gets the ball back with an entire quarter to play.

Exactly.    Keep your mouth shut next time!

No way. If Mount goes to the Stagg - I want them to play UWW and win. The Tommies game was fine but it would have been sweeter over UWW.

Kevin Burke's St Ed's just won D-1 State tourney, but hopefully the HS replays won't need ALL of that airtime and some will be redirected to UMU and JCU game. I need to do my weekly "reality check."

What a game!

It is really nice sitting on the covered side on a day like today.  A few thoughts.....

1.  I hope Mount has some fast healers.  It was the walking wounded by the end of the game.
2.  WORST OFFICIATING EVER!!!!  Bad calls, bad no-calls, late whistles.  They were absolutely horrible.
3.  The defense played really well all day.
4.  The offensive line did a great job protecting Burke MOST of the day.  Still not sure how he got up after that one sack.
5.  Taurice Scott has amazing moves and quickness.

Mount will have their hands full with Wesley next Saturday, but it should be a barn-burner.

What about the ref who never knew where to place the ball? He was constantly moving the ball a yard or two after he had already set it down. There was one series when mount ran the ball for 3 yards, which made it 2nd and 7. Then burke threw an incomplete pass to make it 3rd and 7. What does that ref do?!? He puts the ball back at the original line of scrimmage for the next play!!! Awful officiating!!!

Meyers played very tentative the whole game.  He managed a good chunk of yards on two plays with busted pass coverage, but overall he didn't seemed to be playing with a lot of enthusiasm and energy.  Even when Meyers ran he surrender and slowed up before contact bracing himself for the hit.  Maybe he was playing hurt I don't know.  In JCU's last offense series he looked beat up.  Maybe that is why Arth chose to punt with a little less than 4 minutes left in the game.

I saw that and agree with the announcers "that was the most awkward looking slide I have ever seen". I was wondersing why he pulled up and slid when he could have gotten 3 more yards and a 1st easily, maybe even have scored.

No idea.  We weren't given that info.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Biggest difference between Mount and JCU:

Burke's mobility.   Other than his ability to make plays with his legs, those are 2 even teams.

Apparently that is how UWW caught Wartburg.  Logan Schrader was in the process of destroying the Warhawks, when he was knocked out of the game.  He returned, but his mobility didn't.  Without that, he was dead meat.

Was 33-30 Wartburg with Wartburg driving when they knocked him out. Could have won if he stayed in but the pressure was on too.

The MWC and NACC share officials and these were from that group.

Shouldn't Zach Strippy be a defensive player?
