Hmmm.  Compliments from both Usee and SaintsFAN on the same page?  Maybe I should consider buying a lottery ticket.

Or maybe they've both been drinking?

If I had known SaintsFAN was going to post I would have waited and spaced it out over 6 months so you would have consistent positive feedback.

Dr. Acula

I'm guessing if the rest of the D3 world voted on who they wanted to see in the semis these 4 four teams along with UMHB would be the last 5.  I totally understand that and even I would love to see some new blood.  But man are these going to be a couple of heavyweight fights Saturday.  What a great showcase of the quality of D3 football.

UWW and Mount are the titans.  Wesley is a great program trying to finally punch that first ticket to Salem.  And Linfield is a storied program that's an emotional story this year for very tragic reasons.  I honestly wouldn't be surprised with any combination of the four teams in Salem and to me that's awesome as a fan.

I think for the first time in quite a long time you can say there are 7 teams that can break through to the finals versus the past where there were 2, 3 maybe 4 teams but with the four semifinalists and Wartburg, JCU and MHB all have played at a very high level.

Purpled:

My point, obviously poorly made,  was in reference to the OSU fans chanting "we want 'Bama" at the end of the game last night.

I got your point, but it was what they wished for.  If they didn't get #1 seed Bama, they weren't going to be playing.  The "We want Bama" chant sounds better than "College Football Playoff Selection Committee, please let us play".   ;)

Personally, I think OSU's matches up best against Alabama.  The Tide has holes in the backfield that OSU will need for those 50-50% throws like they had last night.  Oregon is too fast and FSU is obviously Satan's team.

Unfortunately, my household will be polarized, with Scarlet and Gray in the Man Cave and Crimson in the Woman's Lounge.   :-X

so... Crimson in the kitchen, right?

Just in time to leave?   Perfect.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Just looked at the list. 13 guys from JCU (4, 1st team) but 7 are seniors - including most skill players. Tough to reload from that. Mount had 9 total and 7 1st teamers - but only 2 seniors by my count (KB and Runke). Bringing a lot back (normal) - but losing KB is gonna sting. Congrats to all-

ABP for Ric Brienza (if he reads this board)...

I have the Wesley spotting charts if you want them.  It'll save you a couple minutes of prep.  Just email me at gordon.mann@d3sports.com and I'll respond with the charts. I don't think I have your email address anymore.

With all due respect, should we EVER consider a Mount Union kicker for the All-Region teams?  I mean seriously... who can't lineup and kick extra points???  Its like giving a prize to a Scientist for being able to do basic math.  :)

Don't give me his stats -- I'm at least 59.5% joking here but I will say that 95% of the kids kicks weren't pressure-packed.  Now, if you tell me this award dates back to last season for the Semifinals and Stagg Bowl, then I'd agree with the premise.  There are potentially very big kicks for Mount Union in those games.

Hah ... Neanderthals welcome!   ::)  Actually, we built them a space above the garage ... as far away from the basement Man Cave as possible.  [And still allowing us access to beer and pizza.]

Congratulations to Mount Union for placing 9 players on the first and secon team selections.  Congratulations to JCU as well for matching Mount Union with 9 players on the first and second team.  Heidelberg had 4 players on the first 2 units which brings the total to 22 OAC players out of a possible 52 selected for the all region team.
