If I could make one comment about the UWW-Lin game ... Riddle would try to force the ball if there was nothing, Behrendt was more likely to throw it away.

But Riddle has Burke-like legs.  He will be a handful when MUC meets him in the Stagg next year.

Have you already given up on this year mom?

What is the early line?  Lets go out on a limb and make a bold statement.

OK ... just for you ...

Early line is MUC by two scores.  UWW has not impressed me with close games against Wartburg and Linfield.  MUC has blown out everyone except for JCU, the second best team in D3.

But don't tell anyone I said that.   :-X

Mount Union played great of offense, defense and special teams (especially since they seemed to rattle Wesley's punter)

But what I'd like to see improved is the shotgun snap.  Too many times all year high snaps are showing up.

small error on the main page article on Mt/WWW.  WWW has won 3 of the last 4, not all of them...or did I read it wrong...would not be the first time.

Watching the WWW stream, I thought their RBs looked amazing....

I thought the blocking for their RBs was amazing.

DE Wesley Fan

You are all being much too kind. I don't know who those people in Wesley uniforms were today, but they weren't the Wolverines I've watched all year (except special teams and that was pretty typical). The team I know wouldn't have given up like that part way through the 2nd qtr. Mount's a great team, did most everything right. Dominated both offensive & defensive lines which led to all our struggles. Is it wrong to hope for a giant sinkhole in Salem next week that swallows up all things Purple?

Just home from Alliance with Stagg Bowl tickets in hand!   ;D  As many have already said, I never saw this coming.  Mount was outstanding on both sides of the ball today.  Just too much speed and talent on offense for Wesley to handle, and I can not say enough about the defense.  Love the aggressive play and excellent secondary play, not to mention the great play of the O and D lines.  If Wesley was truly as good as their pre-game billing, than it is hard to imagine that we will not see #12 next week.  However, I know UWW will have something to say about that.  Should be a great game in Salem!  The "Respectful Rivalry" continues.

Congratulations to Wesley on a great season.
12-0 = 13

The zebras are doing their best to make sure Whitewater joins MUC again in Salem.  So far in the first half, every call has gone against Linfield.

Oh, come on mom, you know as well as everyone, Whitewater never commits a foul!!  ;)

BoBo

What time is it your part of the world?  Were you able to stream the game?

It's 9:30 am Sun.  A thousand thanks to Kira & Jaxon's Dad for giving me the opportunty to watch today. He's the man today!!

BoBo

Were you able to get up early enough to catch any streaming of Mount Wesley game?

Yes, but I went back to bed at halftime to recharge my batteries a little for the main event (UWW/Lin)!!  ;)

That's the early line for next years Stagg vs Linfield? Or this year...I'm confused. Two safeties for Mount is your big time spread. Or is it a FG and a safety?
I do recall Mount blowing out everyone a couple years ago in usual Mount fashion, only to lose to UWW in the Stagg - it's happened and wouldn't be a surprise again.

There was a big difference between Mount Union's playoff run this year is versus last year.

Last year Mount Union had a young team with less big game experience compared to previous years.  The last year's team continued to win game after game, but didn't have that extended level of dominance.  They had flashes of dominance, but to follow that up with games where they let their opponents get back in the game.  They lack the knockout punch, but they were entertaining during their run.

This year's team is peaking at the right time.  They are having strong performances in all aspects of the game.  Mount Union is headed into the Stagg Bowl on a very high note.  Of coarse UWW is a strong team, as well, and has a chance to slowdown Mount's momentum.  I'm sure Mount Union fans are feeling a lot better about this year's Stagg Bowl with Mount Union's performance peaking at the right time versus last year when they hoped Mount Union would finally put it all together.

In any event this year's game should be a good one that is competitive.

I thought the same thing when I read it, but I think's correct...talking about the last 4 title game meetings between the two, not the last 4 Stagg Bowls - which is what I thought it said the first time I read it.

Ah, Loki ... you try to pull me into a battle for which I am unprepared.

On Monday night, I will put out a spread for this year's combatants ... I do not underestimate the other team of Purple, but I have to set a spread that will appease all ... we will talk of next year another time.   ;)

My loyalty shows in my screen name.

After TG with my son's family we stopped in Alliance for the game. Left at half time because it was cold, the game was over, despite our request we were on the UMU side, and we had dinner plans in Cincinnati.

Based on today's results it will be another UWW-UMU Stagg Bowl.

UMU (and UWW) have proven they can dominate like no other two teams in college football. Have UMU and the Wisconsin schools ever considered moving up to DII where they might truly be tested? I recognize that the other sports might not be competitive, and that could be a reason for not moving up, but I'd be interested in others perspective.

Jeff [in Tennessee], moving to D2 or D1 is not a little thing.  It involves mucho dinero, and many restrictions, and changes to ALL their sports.

Most D3 schools cannot handle that $$.

It has nothing to do with supremacy at a singular sport.  It has to do with financial survival.

Jeff,

Long story short - Let's not go down that road again.  Always seems to rear it's ugly head during championship week.
