Congratulations to Kevin Burke!  Now go bing home the Walnut and Bronze!

I second that.

If he beats UWW for his 2nd title I think he has as good a claim to that crown as anyone.  Without it he's still in the conversation, but it'd be really hard to unseat Borchert considering he has 2 rings and a list of passing records a mile long.

I get the question and think it's fair to ask given this latest accomplishment.  But, as someone who never saw Ballard or Borchert play, I still think Burke is after them.  But, it does make me wonder who the next B-named QB for Mount will be.

Possibly Ernie Burkes.  He played some this year as a freshman and looked good.  Very athletic.

Each great "B" quarterback has had their own special characteristics.  Ballard was a prickly arrogant guy (and I say this with respect and I like him) who would spit on your shoes and dare you to beat him...Borchert was a quiet confident leader who lead by an example of perfection and professionalism, the guy just did not make a mistake...Burke is just a winner, in every sense of the word, who refuses to give up and never sweats what is going on..
Ballard was the guy who called a Rowan lineman who was about 6'5 295 a "punK"  haha
Borchert was the most respectful guy I ever met toward his elders and people around him.
Burke I don't know too much about, but his teammates swear by him which is a great sign.

Ballard probably had the best tools in a professional sense, IMO

Great job with the interviews Pat and Frank..The Gagliardi video was classic too

Congratulations to Kevin Burke.  Obviously, Kevin is as exemplary off the field as he is on it. Congratulations, Kevin, on an outstanding career.

Congrats to Kevin, on a stellar college career!
"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

I need to add to my post from last night what else needed to be said...Congratulations to Kevin Burke!  It's such an honor to win the award, and so much more so when you do it twice!  Each time for him was a first for the award...first time a junior, first time a two-time winner.

Burke has had two incredible seasons where he's been the best on the field week in and week out, and that alone is worthy of being among the greatest to ever play the position, and among the greatest to ever play the position at Mount Union.

Way to go Kevin!!!

Congrats to Kevin and to his teammates, without whom it wouldn't be possible for Kevin to perform at such a high level.   O-line, RB and WR's all share in this award.   Well done guys.   Now finish the deal and send LL to Buffalo with one last loss.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Wow just saw espnu is rerunning the Wesley-Mt. game right now. How was that punt with the score at 7-0 at least attempted to be covered?

Mount Fans, good luck in the game tomorrow.  For those of you making the trip enjoy it.  I will not there this year.  The folks I usually hang with will not be there and I have some moving prep to take care of.  I think this game is going to be real interesting.  If the Mount defense plays like they did last week I think UWW will have trouble scoring because they have been kept in the 20's several times this year.  The Mount offense will likely move the ball.  The team I saw this past Saturday was better than last years.  All that will mean nothing if the O line does not play well.  They controlled Wesley's D line and that opened up the passing game.  Nice group of receivers and Mitchell looked like he did last year.  The D line made life hell for Callahan and if they can do that to Berendt then Mount is in good shape.  This has all the makings of a good game, but for some reason they seldom end up that way.  I am taking Mount 31 - 17.

I think Wesley will be in good hands with Callahan coming back for his senior.  Hopefully he can be an even stronger leader next year.  Mount Union was riding high last year when they took a hard lopsided loss which motivated them to work harder and come back stronger the next year.  Keven Burke among others provide leadership for the Raiders to come back much improved.  I think Callahan has the skills and leadership to do the same for Wesley and who knows if and when he does Kevin might be handing off the Gagliardi award to Joe next year.

Good luck Raiders and safe travels to all

Heard from a mount Union faculty member that the kid is everything you'd want in a student, hard worker, gets his stuff in on time, never misses class. Very reassuring to have someone outside the d3fb community vouche for his character. Congrats again to KB!
