It is official.  Kevin Bullis was named head football coach at Whitewater.  Good choice and Warhawk fans should be happy they were able to get a good guy and promote from within.  The process was a very wild ride.  I know that for several days early in December they recruited Erik Raeburn very hard.

I'm not sure where you get your information but I've personally spoken with three individuals on the selection committee and a few others in the athletic department and you are mistaken.  No one, unless it was a private citizen acting without the athletic department's knowledge, "recruited" Erik Raeburn.  His decision to apply was entirely his own without any influence from the university.

The AIA (Arizona's equivalent of the OHSAA) is busy butchering division realignment and I went to the OHSAA page to see if it's being done around the same way it was when I was in high school.  I wish the folks and Arizona could get out of their own damn way on this.

OHSAA divides it out pretty evenly from DI to DVI based on male enrollment.

AIA on the other hand, has created some top-secret formula that uses multipliers of enrollment, last 6 yr w/l record, and # of students on free/reduced lunch.  The appeals process is happening now.  They are currently looking at 17 D1 schools, between 50-60 schools in DII-IV, 20 schools in DV and DVI would be 8-man football.  What's worse is they want to allow at least 12 teams in the playoffs for each division so that means only 5 DI teams would not make the playoffs each year.  It's mind-numbingly stupid.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

Indiana lets everybody into the state tournaments.  Now THAT is dumb.

Have to wonder if Kevin Burke was sitting somewhere in Alliance last Sunday watching Julian Edelman have 100 yards receiving and the Super bowl winning TD grab and thinking "why can't that be me?" Very similar size, both played QB in college (in NE Ohio), and both seem to have incredible motors.

There can't possibly be 100 other Kevin Burkes in Alliance. It's just a small town.

e

Bullis was a good choice.

There is more to be told on the recruiting process that maybe someday will come out.

Having two of the Scott's on the field at the same time will be good for UMU.

Kinda like the Scott Brothers from Fairfield on the defensive side a few years back.
