Malone will be a D2 football independent for the foreseeable future, only two G-MAC schools have football.  Hopefully they can keep games with some of their current GLIAC South foes, unless or until they find a school to replace Malone.

That conference sounds like a much better fit for Malone.  Small, private, Christian schools.  On the surface that definitely seems more in line with them.

bceagle80,

Thanks for the list you posted, but like purple mentioned, too few big lineman. I know the Raiders are losing several of
the ones available to D2 programs. :(

You have to figure with volume of recruits every year that some will fall away. Remember the list is incomplete at this time. I have not seen other post listing a number of other recruits. However, I believe they probably have at least another 50 planning to attend Mount Union in the fall. I am sure we will see more lineman.

I can say that we will have some big men playing on the line this coming season. I also know that size is not everything but sure helps all else being equal. My son has goal of playing at 300 lbs. while at Mount Union and he will continue to work hard toward this goal. However, he does not want to weigh 300 lbs, and not be able to move. He knows he needs to maintain his speed and quickness while building the additional muscle. He is one of the quicker lineman on the team right now. In addition, he wants to maintain his flexibility. This will help minimize injury and keep him on the field.

He is gaining more knowledge and incite from the upperclassmen who play the line this summer by spending the summer working out with them. This incite will set him apart and give him an extra edge when completing with other lineman for starting positions next fall.

This is cool, Heidelberg's Danteea Dye signs a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

Good grief- how are they so bad in big games?!  Is anybody doing less with more than Heidelberg?

Ehh, well, none of their NFL players or prospects have been on defense, so ... I don't look at it as doing less with more. It's just hard to be as good as Mount Union and John Carroll have been the past two years.

Seconded.  If they can figure out the defense thing up there, look out.

I was on campus at Mount Union on Thursday and was told Taurice Scott will be at #1 QB on the depth chart
as a result of the Spring drills.  Not a real surprise, but the Raiders do have a big freshman QB coming this fall who turned
down a D1 offer.

I watched the Purples throw the ball around for awhile last weekend. The size of the receivers impressed me the most. Scott is the D-3 answer to Braxton Miller; fast ,elusive, a fine thrower and a threat to score from anywhere on the field on any play. Roman Namdar is a stud.

What was the question?  This post reads like some kind of weird, inverted Jeopardy clue.

Well...the offense has kind of no-showed the big games the last few years, too.

Berg had 259 yards of total offense against JCU last year, 94 of which came on a Cartel Brooks touchdown with 3:46 remaining in a 43-10 game.  In the first 45 minutes of that game, the Heidelberg offense produced zero points and not many yards.

They had a somewhat better showing against Mount Union - at least they got some points on the board in the first half - but still, this wasn't a case of trading touchdowns and not-quite being able to keep pace.  10 points in the first 45 minutes wasn't going to cut it there, either, no matter how good their defense was.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

Gosh Wally...I thought I was commenting on Raider 68's post.  I'll be sure to run my next post past you before I put it up.  I wouldn't want you to get your panties in a bunch again!
