Did they mean game to watch because it's the first game post-Myers?  There's no way St. Vincent has the horses to deal with JCU's defense so I don't think that's a close game.  I'm assuming the Streaks will be up 3+ scores at half and coasts from there.
Does anyone know what the QB situation is like for St. Vincent other than there are 11 guys out for the position? Im familiar with the Shimensky guy. He spent time at Kent State, then Mount and now St. Vincent.

An outsider here, but in perusing the boards, I noticed your post.  Wow, that is insane.  You would think a guy would really check out the potential chances one would have before going to a program (i.e. like how many are ahead of you at your position).  To be fair, perhaps he thought that since he had been at Kent State, he would have an easier chance at Mount.  Yet, we all know that the Mount program is one tough program with great players and with several established/proven QBs there already (even when one graduates), that is still a tough situation competition wise to crack.

That said, I can understand him going to St. Vincent, a program still trying to build, where it would seem that one in his situation would have a probable excellent chance at winning the starting position, although obviously it appears that 10 others thought the same thing and said "let's go for it". :)  Let us know what you find out (although I guess we can check that here at D3 after Saturday's games).

Of come on, guys -- just because a school has 11 quarterbacks on the roster doesn't mean they have 11 true candidates to start at quarterback.

Pat, come on yourself, of course we know that.  It was a simple legit question for that particular person's situation and we're just discussing it.  No need for the chiding.  You know as well as we do, that there are always, in any given year,on some team rosters where there are a ton of guys listed at the QB position.  Just because some guy played that position in high school and was perhaps recruited for the same, obviously doesn't mean that he is going to remain there.

The saying goes, "if you have two QBs then you really don't have a QB".... what if you have 11 QBs?????

^ that means you have a very diverse offense.

And no line.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

You have 11 guys who were likely some of the best athletes from their high school.  Guys that typically are athletic enough to play other positions like safety, wide receiver, etc.  I've seen some decent QBs transition to linebacker as well.

Walt

I heard Otterbein struggled mightily against OWU in their scrimmage.  Anyone have details?

Walt

I should clarify... I heard this from an Ott fan.  Maybe he was just sandbagging...

Dr. Acula

Saw on Twitter that Sam Bourquin is calling the Mount games for 1310.  If we can't have Ric and HScoach then Sam is a great alternative.  He's a strong play by play guy.  He's been the best HS football and hoops play by play guy in the area for years.  1480 has been awful at broadcasting games since he left.

I hadn't heard that! I always liked Sammy calling Stark County HS games and I'm glad he'll be doing Mount games as well.

Sam is good on the play by play, but Ric and Coach were dedicated, prepared, entertaining, and Mount guys.  I will miss em.  I would like to thank them for their time on the air and the many exciting calls over the years.
