Just a quick response to Raiderpa about the Toledo Rockets opener which was called due to weather. It was officially ruled a "NO CONTEST" because the Toledo and Stonybrook people could not agree on a way to finish the game. Stonybrook did not want to assume they were going to lose with a half remaining and rejected ideas to finish the game the next day. Today is a proud day to be a Rocket though! Go Raiders and Rockets!

This game might save Oshkosh from the scorn of their 86-0 win over first year program Finlandia. But, a part of me hopes it doesn't.

I looked at the box for this game. Something like 14 different guys carried the ball for Oshkosh. It was 63-0 by halftime, with most of the scoring drives taking only 2 or 3 plays. They really didn't run it up - Finlandia was just that overmatched.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

Wonder what the spread might look like for a Finlandia/Earlham matchup?   ;)

Sorry for breaking protocol and bringing up a high school football game to this bboard, but I heard that Gregg Easterbrook was already accusing Meadville of running up the score.

;)

They won by 17... That's not running up the score!  Doesn't matter if you win 17-0 or 107-90... It's still a 17 point spread.  I can't imagine anyone would get upset over that.

Teams only get accused of "running up the score" when they beat an opponent by 50, 60, or 70+ points.

Enjoyed the web cast of the onu game...the crowd noise rather than commentators actually enhanced the experience for me...one suggestion...flash the score board on changes of possession and after scores would be great...I look forward to future wed casts
Why the defense ain't werkin'?

I saw Finlandia play Week 1. It's not at all surprising UWO won by that much. They could have won by 120 without even really trying.

Thank you Capt. Pat and Capt. ex, I wasn't saying Oshkosh was rolling up the score, hell, they might have scored 200, without breaking a sweat. What I was saying is writers like Gregg Easterbrook never looks at the details only the score to make their story. Period. It was 86-0 and a smuck like Easterbrook sees that like a shark sees blood in the water and attacks. Wise up you guys please, there was nothing sinister in my comment.

If it were this week, I'd go Earlham by 13.

Congrats Rockets, the MAC is proud of you.

nice comeback win for Bluffton after the egg they laid at Wilmington but what does this say about BW? Bluffton had nothing for Wilmington. A pick six from the offense and beaten badly on a miracle at the end of the game by the Quakers? This will not go well in Berea this week.

HScoach

Does Berea even care?  Recent history points towards "no".
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

A bit better on the OAC Pick-Em this week, but my spreads and your picks are not yet in mid-season form.  I blame the football teams themselves.   ;)

Congrats to desertcat1 with a primo 8/10 this week, with newbie bluestreak66 and veteran theaprof a point behind.

Overall, 02 Warhawk keeps the top spot he earned last week; desertcat1 and theaprof are the only other players in double-digits.  Conventional Wisdom is but 5 for the two weeks.

Week # 3 spreads come out Monday night as we start conference play.

Mounts JV schedule says they played JCU on the 13th. Any score? Also, if the Mount SID reads here (and he should!) post the scores of the games! Some of us are very interested in both Varsity and JV football. Thanks all-
