Given the very even distribution of OAC Pick-em selections this week -- 4 games had the same number of votes for each team -- it is no surprise that the scoring ranged from the very good (11) to the very bad (0).  praiderguy and rscl70 tied for medalist honors with the aforementioned 11 out of 15.

Overall, 02 Warhawk extended his lead over wally_wabash to 5 points, but the two of them fell back closer to the main student body.

Week #7 spreads will come out Monday night.

The thing that Ballard has mentioned on more than one game is that Scott throws the ball flat footed.  He doesn't even step into the throws which is crazy that he can throw the ball that far without even stepping into it.

If this doesn't get fixed, Mount Union match ups with either of the UW schools snd MHB are bad ones for the Purple Raiders.  As you alluded to by mentioning Whitewater, these schools would rather see a one-dimensional UMU team.  I don't know.  I feel like Mount Union could use a couple big tests before the semis this year.  I guess that's what I'm saying.  It seems Whitewater has similar issues at QB.

The problem is that their defense is very good this year.  Because of that I have a hard time seeing them being pushed hard until the regional finals at the earliest.  Their defense and running game is probably just going to overpower people until then.  And I agree, that's absolutely not a good thing.  JCU will at the very least challenge the Mount offense.  The Streaks aren't what they were last year overall, but they're still a good defensive team and they'll be jacked up for that game.

For the record, I think what I said would be similar to what the Wabash guys would say about their team too.  They need to be pushed too, but their defense and running game is most likely going to let them cruise through the regular season.  Mount and Wabash seem very similar to me this year in that respect.

My favorites were the original black jersey with the Raider logo on the shoulders w/purple pants and my other favorite was the White jersey
with purple pants. Not a fan of the gun metal gray.

Never liked the HUGE logo on the shoulders.

You don't like these ones K&J?  I loved those old all whites on the road.

I Like the all whites, just not the HUGE FONT.  Like the M on the Hips.

Shoulder pads used to be so BIG.  LOL

I am interested in seeing how the first place votes are divided between Mount Union and Linfield this week.

Raiders got 17 of the votes (19 Total)
Linfield got 4 of the votes (6 Total)

I believe there are quite a few teams in the top 15 with the same issue of already playing the team most likely to test them.  We'll find out more about these teams in the tournament.

coaches (including the Athletic Director) will come up with some solutions.

What? Mount has an AD that is a QB guru? He should be a coach ;D Seriously though, I think LK and Jim Ballard should talk (as if they haven't already) and get this fixed.

To the Unis - look I am not 75. I get it, the kids like it, yada yada yada - but my issue is that Mounts colors are Purple, white and black. Not Gun metal and purple. Whats next - Mount takes the field in Brown and yellow trimmed in purple? I like the Chuck Moore/Dan Pugh Black jersey with white or purple pants - but I love the ALL PURPLES!

I have felt from day one that Mount QB is average passer at best. Too many overthrows and off targets.    Kennedy and Namdar are go to guys, but #83 acts like he is allergic to pigskin when it is thrown to him...has drops in every game, one sure TD dropped...#8 looks ok and TE is non existent so far, when it used to be a major target,
ONU had good skill guys, but could not compete up front...I think their QB could be special in a couple years.
Still  impressed with backup QB...;has done nothing to change my (unprofessional) opinion that he is the future.
Overheard a very knowledgable football guy say this is the best Mount defense...EVER
If Raiders do not get to Stagg, or win it , it will be due to team stacking against the run and exposing a poor passer, IMO...

Just got done watching the game from yesterday.  First and foremost, those uni's are bad.  Talked to some folks who were there and they didn't like them either so it wasn't my TV I guess.

Defense was well, lights out again.  Furda and Lally are just complete beasts and Hiteshue was everywhere.  I don't know if everyone is a good tackler on this team since it seems we have four people or more in on about every tackle.  Just really good.  All the linebackers get to the ball so well and then you have two very good corners just lurking around waiting to make a pick.  It's fun to watch them play but unfortunately you only get to watch three plays at a time.

Offense looked great running the ball and IMHO Nemeth gets better every week.  BJ worries me with the way he carries the ball as others have noted but I guess he won't change until he starts to fumble. Glad to see Johnson back.  He's so good it's too bad he can't get more touches.  Passing attack on the other hand didn't look so good.  I agree with whoever said that some of the throws downfield shouldn't have been made.  Namdar wasn't wide open yesterday on the downfield routes but Scott tried to throw them anyway.  Kennedy is pretty solid as a possession receiver but the other two just don't impress me.  Wilson doesn't make any catches in traffic and honestly looks lost in his routes. They must like something about him because he has more drops than catches.  Hargrove is fast but doesn't catch the ball in traffic well either.  The miss in the end zone was inexusable in my book.  Others have commented about the same issues so hopefully these things get fixed before it matters. Sometime speed is over rated in this game because you still have to run good routes and then catch the ball.

Last but not least, special teams.  The kicking game looks pretty darned good.  Ruhnke was so good that I was worried about a letdown there but so far the newbies look pretty solid both on kickoffs and from placement.  Kick coverage has been really good every game and Nemeth, Redman, and Van Antwerp get their names called alot and really run to the ball. Since we only have one kick return every game its tough to comment on but Wilson does look impressive on that part of the game.  Punt return wise I would love to see Friss get some reps there since Kennedy gets so many chances at returns.

Heard the JV's played a tough prep team today and came away with a good win.

Correct - I listed black last and should have noted it as the accent color. That is why I don't like the all black unis - accent colors should not be the primary in the uniform.

All this talk about the uniforms is hilarious. Dont forget that early on the players wore lavender and turquoise. Who would like to see them in those throwback uniforms?
