Who besides myself would like to pit the Raiders and Linfield in the playoffs for a change? Ive never seen that team. Maybe they can meet somewhere halfway between Ohio and Oregon on a neutral field in a city that has cheap flights because its an airlines major hub. Otherwise Im probably not going to ever see them play. :( Even if they met in the finals I cant pull off going to The Stagg Bowl on a Thursday.

I don't know the national scene well, but at minimum I would say Callahan from Wesley would be ahead of him.  Scott is very efficient (#3 in the nation coming into today) and he's run for over 500 yds with 9 rushing TD thus far too, but I'm not sure that's enough to overtake Callahan's raw numbers and resume.

The Linfield QB comes to mind, as well.  And Cuda from Case has great numbers.

I thought the exact same thing.  But when I looked at Riddle's numbers I thought Scott was better statistically.  I also looked at Wartburg's Schrader, but again thought Scott was better statistically.  But as I said, I'm not a national guy so that exhausted my ideas!

A few thoughts after watching the Raiders/Yellow Jackets:

- Holding BW to less than 150 yards and no points, is IMHO, the key to coming games. The defense is extremely strong.

- T. Scott showed even more moves today and will be a handful for JCU and the playoffs.

- #89 for the Raiders has a lot of promise going forward.

- Good that the starters played as much as they did. and will do it again next week.

- Namdar was double teamed much of the day, but still had a good game and Hargrove made some great catches as well.

- Good to Mitchell back in the game, but over the next weeks, we will see a lot of L. Nemeth.

Perfectly willing to host them in Delta Air Lines hub Minneapolis-St. Paul. :)

Who ever is coaching the Mount QB should take a bow.  The kid is growing week to week as a passer.  I earlier expressed my doubts about his ability to carry a game with his arm, however, he appears to be coming into his own in that area at the right time.
Wilson was on crutches and Kennedy looked banged up, even though he returned.  He is a very important possession receiver and I hope is ok.  Wilson has improved from his "king of the drops" label, but still untrustworthy.  The frosh, #89, looked ready for prime time, hands-wise.
Nemeth is a beast and has put Mitchell in the back seat.
Was good to see Furda back on the field.  He is a key part of the D.

Considering going to the Mount/JCU game on Sat. Never seen JCU stadium....hmmm. I may have to make the trek across town for this one.

desertraider,

Worth the trip to Don Shula Stadium. It is a nice venue, visitor stands are small, but you will have a huge Mount Fan base there.
It will be a good atmosphere for a game. :)

All depends on the family at this point. A couple of things on the Mount/BW game. I got up at 6AM to watch the replay and was very glad I did.
1. Mounts D is incredible. I am damn near speechless. They are quick, fast, and nasty. The O didn't do them any favors in the first half and the D just kept hitting. Very impressive.
2. Moeglin:
     a. That kid is good and was pretty much a solo act in the game. I saw multiple plays where the play action failed due to the back (#32) not executing his fake. Moeglin takes the snap, shows the ball, and the back went straight to the LOS. Hard to hold the LBs when the RB doesn't do his part.
     b. He is tough. The Mount D hammered him all day long. He took some incredible hits and just kept getting up. I am sure he was in an ice bath for much of today.
3. BW's D did not do much - statistically  Mount dominated them start to finish. But they hit, hit hard, forced fumbles and created opportunities. They made Mount work.
4. Mount's O had so many things go wrong - TO's, some poor execution, injuries - but found a way to overcome it. Losing Wilson and having Kennedy banged up before half took 2 pieces away from the O - but Scott (Skylar) stepped up big time and the O got on track.

The adversity will help Mount moving forward. In addition - Skylar Scott becomes a new weapon. He is more physical than Wilson and I think that will help next week at JCU and in the playoffs. On the playoffs - the new poll has Mount, Linfield, UWO and  the Tommies as top 4. With all them being North and 3 of them being West - if the season ended today Mount would probably go East (?), Linfield West (?), who goes North and South? Curious.

Taurice Scott is leading the nation in passing efficiency AND averaging 8.5 yards per rush.

Figured I'd get these stats out now because they'll probably change for the worse after next week - Scott faces a MUCH tougher defense November 14 than Inspector Callahan does.

Obviously, stats don't tell the whole story but they're all I've got, since a) I haven't seen either quarterback play this season and b) I'm probably the least qualified person on the board to use the eye test.

Raider 68 I agree with your summary.

The defense was very dominate and played especially hard after each of the turnovers.  Mount surrender a total of 22 yards on the 3 drives after the turnovers.

Based on some poor unsportsmanlike play from BW and their fans over the years LK always had so extra motivation against BW.  Saturday's game was played fairly clean bu both teams, but it was evident that Mount wanted the shutout.

An additional stat on Mount Union's defense dominance versus BW over the years is yesterday's shutout was the 4th by the Raiders in the last 8 home games against Baldwin Wallace. BW scored 3, 3, 20 and 7 in other games.
