Reviewing Franklin's stats and box scores and saw a little nugget that was interesting.  Burton's numbers are staggering (377 yds/gm).  Their overall stats are heavily weighted in that direction.  But when I looked at the RHIT box score I found it interesting that they attempted 44 passes that day versus 36 carries from just their two RBs (Burton had additional carries on top of that 36).  In their biggest game of the year they were balanced and had a RB go for 195 yds on 23 carries.

Franklin spotted Rose a 21-0 lead in first Q.  One FC TD called back (referee says fumble, replay shows knee down). Couple big plays led to two of Rose TDs (no sustained drive).  Franklin tied the game 21-21 before half.  Rose scored a quick TD at the half to go up 28-21. In the seocnd half Franklin went on more balanced attack with one sustained drive of 99 yeards (primary on the ground).  FC can run the ball if they want.  Solid line.   FC won the game 42-14 after the 21-0 debacle.  Should be a good game.  Knowledgeable OAC posters on here know all about Franklin and how they stack up against OAC competition.  In last 7 years or so the record is good  2 losses to Mount (one loss FC led with 4 min to go in Alliance).  Two wins in a home and away with Baldwiin Wallace.  Rung up 60 on 9-1 Otterbein in the playoffs 5 years ago (I think).

Personally, I look forward to seeing what Franklin did to Otterbein five years ago and how it directly correlates to what happens Saturday versus ONU.  I'm sure that will have a huge impact on the game.  ;)

I am getting more interested in the Mount/St Lawrence game......granted I am going so being interested helps. Just saw on the St Lawrence website that half the team was named all Liberty League including Co-POY.

It sounds like SLU may be doing a video feed.  I hope that's true.  That would certainly be nice for us out-of-towners.  If not, Mount radio with the ONU game video on isn't a bad alternative.

Interesting to see what the over/under of Mount Score?

Question - Why did ONU make a change at QB mid way through the season? Did Freed get injured?

My point was FC is familiar with the level of competition in the OAC.  Mount. and the rest of the conference.  Will be a good game.   ;)

I was wondering the same thing. Freed was not having a bad year (aside from the Mount game).

I'm pretty sure Freed is hurt.  He hasn't played since midway through the Cap game.  Johnson was inserted at QB the possession following a Freed TD pass to tie the game.  That would seem an odd time to yank your QB.  Freed was also not even listed on the 2 deep last week.

Polar Bears better show-up at Franklin. I expect a win - or a really bad loss. Sorry, the Polar Bears seem to have a 'feast or famine' history.

Freed has been hurt.  Was injured mid-game as was described.  He's practicing again.  I don't know if that means Franklin prepares for both or not as they are very different quarterbacks.

Luckily, spurrier doesn't speak for all polar bears.

It doesn't seem like a loss would be that surprising. And why would it be a bad loss? Franklin would probably be the second or third best team in the OAC most years and that's what Ohio Northern is this year. Seems like a toss up to me.
