Your response was solid.  The analysis was pretty much on point and I think that Johnson does give the Bears a dual threat that has in turn opened things up even more for Magazine.  I still disagree on Price.  He was just fine in the 5.5 games he played with Freed versus the 4.5 games he played with Johnson.  He had 151 yards on 6 catches in the first half of the CAP game that Freed got hurt in.  Johnson handed him the ball a couple times in the second half but didn't complete pass to Price in that second half.

That said, the offense seemed to really find itself once Johnson took over.  They were doing well in the first half of the season but kicked it up a notch in the scoring department under Johnson which has made a huge difference in scoring.

Reality Check,

Don't tell my husband, but you made a lady smile!  :)

I would also say as a fan of the program I am concerned that the Bears are going to be challenged to keep two talented young QB's. Otterbein's HC said Johnson could start for any team in the OAC and I think the same is true for Freed.

I would not be surprised if next year's roster has one of them off of it.

ps. I also wanted to mention when reviewing stats to Price. Johnson has not finished one game, where Freed played the entirety of every game he started (the Mount game was particularly peculiar that they wouldn't rotate Johnson in being down so far). RJIII (it's my party and I'll abbreviate if I want to) has been pulled usually early to midway through the 3rd period which makes his stats particularly impressive. I believe Freed prefered throwing to Allen because of Allen's size and his routes are early on the progression, where Johnson does not fear waiting for the route to develop for Price. I will agree to disagree on that point. Thanks again!!
Go Lady Polar Bears! Beat Mount Union!!

Well those in the know at D3football.com have St. Lawrence scoring as many as 14 points this Saturday. Any score predictions here? I am leaning heavy on 52-3.

I'll go with 55-7.

I was more surprised that all three guys picked ONU to win.  I figured at least one would back the Grizz.

That one surprised me as well. ONU can win it - but they need to play a complete game.

I don't think that St. Lawrence will score than maybe a touchdown. Mount held John Carroll, Ohio Northern, and Baldwin Wallace to a combined 10 points. I honestly believe that any of those teams could have won the Liberty League this year. I think the final score will be 56-0.
As for Northern, I like their matchup. Franklin didn't really have any wins of note, and playing against weaker competition will likely catch up with them. I think ONU will win 31-21.

It's hard to gauge Franklin because (to me) it's really hard to gauge RHIT.  They beat a pretty bad Kalamazoo team in their opener 29-14.  Other than that they beat up on the hapless HCAC teams other than Franklin.  So are they good?  Pretty good?  Sort of good?  I have no clue.  All I know is that I expect both ONU and Franklin to put up 28+ tomorrow.  I'll take ONU 35-31.

"RJ3" caught my eye today, but honestly, it's time to let this go.  It's tired.

The problem is that his name is Ricardo Johnson III...and his jersey # is 1. So RJIII is really just an abbreviated name while "RJ1" would meet the name+# criteria.

Same difference, really.  Intials+# is worn out.  We can do better.   :)

Motion is officially tabled due to new information until after the playoffs.

I have a hard time gauging the HCAC in general. However, I do think that ONU is better now than when they played Mount - and the QB gives teams something else to worry about. I am taking ONU in a 35-28.....38-31 type game.

It's tough this time of year... have to split my attention between football pickems and basketball fun.  ;D

Weather for the game tomorrow doesn't look stellar... rain in the morning changing over to snow with about 10mph winds. But I guess that's fine for a polar bear ;)

Per ESPN GameDay the winner today's OSU MSU game will play Mount Union

Craft_Beermeister

Mount Union up early in 1st qtr 14-o

ONU hurt by turnover followed by long 89 yard TD to go down 10-0.  Not the start I hoped.

Craft_Beermeister

Mount's D has 5 sacks in first quarter

Dr. Acula

Mount is up 27-0 in the 1st. SLU just can't get anything going.
