I guess the refs felt so bad about the Saints' QB's getting whacked that in 56 passing attempts there was not one holding call. Great blocking?

^ with 12 sacks?  Um, no.   Obviously SLU should have held MORE.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Great win for the Polar Bears.  This team has grown so much as the season has progressed.  Had they laid an egg, there would have been more talk of how they should have never been in to begin with.  A win validates their inclusion.  And they are playing with house money.  Go Bears!

And BillyRay, if my records are right, you owe me like 7 dozen wings at this point.

polar bears competed until the final whistle...again...proud of the way the polar bear fans travel...picked up a NCAA playoff long sleeve t-shirt at the stadium for a mere 35 bucks...it was worth it though cause it lists my two favorite d3 teams...see u in Oshkosh...
Why the defense ain't werkin'?

Mr. Ypsi

ONU was very fortunate with the snow kickin' in at halftime.  It's basic animal science:

Ordinarily, grizzlies > polar bears.

If in snow, polar bears > grizzlies. ;D

LOL -

Also note they scored 20 more than most thought, despite those 12 sacks.  As the youngin's say - cray-cray.

I was coaching at a girls basketball tourney all day and evening. Just got home and wanted to see what the OAC elder council had to say about today's win. Reality, as usual I completely agree on both your takes. The win validated the committee's choice and they will enter next week with nothing to lose. I also hope that residually this will confirm that the OAC has teams  and fanbases that will travel and win for future NCAA committee consideration.

We have a team well suited for this time of year with the three headed monster Johnson/Magazine/Price the latter appears to have been used in the run game today, which is great!

Enjoy the win today because it will be tough sledding for us next week! Thanks to the Joelmama for doing a great job posting updates!!!
Go Lady Polar Bears! Beat Mount Union!!

That was an exciting day! Both OAC teams win! I'm sure there were some Mount people at the game today. it looked like St. Lawrence got most of their points after Mount pulled the starters. Is that what happened? I'm trying to get a gauge of how the top of the OAC not in the playoffs (specifically JCU) would have compared to some of the other league champions. I feel like JCU gave a better game (although the margin was about the same), but JCU also played close enough where the Mount Union starters had to stay in the whole time. I think if Northern can stay close with Oshkosh next week (or even win!), maybe people will finally put the "OAC is having a down year" nonsense to bed.
Also, did anyone see how badly Cortland beat Salisbury? That kind of confirms my long held suspicion that Heidleberg is the best 5-5 team ever. There loses were to thee round of 16 teams, and 8-2 team, and a 7-3 team

Well the best QB in SLU history got hurt in the first half, and the backup that game in had thrown 2 passes all year.

St. Lawrence scored 16 of their points in the 4th after Mount pulled the starting D.  The fall off on defense was noticeable and a bit disappointing.  St. Lawrence had good size and execution, they simply could not match the speed and quickness of the Raiders.  Where they might finish in OAC play is idle speculation.

Sorry to see Lefflbine get hurt.  Terrible way to end a Senior season.  On a brighter note, Richardson looked pretty good once the line was able to give him some time to throw.  Good luck to St. Lawrence in '16.  Maybe we'll see you again.

Great win for the Polar Bears and OAC.

Dean Paul and his staff did an excellent job at righting the ship.

The first half was a very ugly one for ONU, one that could have broken a lesser team.  Franklin on their opening drive drove down to the 1st goal at 5 and ONU goal line defense held Franklin to a field goal.  The Polar Bears answer in their opening drive going on a long sustained drive only to have a turnover at the 11 stop it.  Next play Franklin scores on a 89 yard bomb.  Then to make matters worse ONU goes 3 and out with Franklin scoring on their next drive.  Another 3 and out by ONU follows before they start to move the ball again and manage to get some stops on Franklin.  Late in the first half the Bears mount a sustained drive and get to 3rd and 1 at 10 with little over minute left.  However they loose a yard on their dive play and have to go for chip shot field goal in bad weather conditions.  Get some points on the board before half to have something build on, but the field goal is missed.  The Bears go into locker room cold, down 16-0 on the road in poor playing conditions.

Most teams would have given up under those conditions, but the Polar Bears don't and come out after half to see that the freezing rain has changed to snow.  Snow on the field becomes prefect playing weather for polar bears especially those  fired up by their coaches and fans.

Great comeback win for ONU and OAC.

Missed the game on Saturday and heard the first half.

A few thoughts

- The St. Lawrence scoring and yards in the 4th quarter, were disappointing when you consider 12 sacks and
a great defensive effort in the 1st 3 quarters.

- Albright will be much better and with a 49-0 win, they will be very confident.

- Not much passing on Saturday, was it the wind or just great running.
