The next 3 weeks will define Scott's legacy.   Not the first 12.   I could have played QB the first 12 weeks and Mount would still be the undefeated.   Play great and win the next 3 then we'll talk.   Otherwise he's simply a faster version of Zac Bruney which is a really good D3 QB, but NOT one of the greats.

Ummmm......I'll give you 8-4.

Losing to Wesley would not be "the upset of the decade".  Wilmington winning in Alliance would be the upset of the decade.  Okay, millenium.

Since they have two conference wins since 2009, I think Wilmington winning anywhere in the OAC would be a pretty big upset.

Looking at the OL and DL Two-Deep for the Raiders, there are quite of few returners for next year.

DL:
2 Seniors - Lally, Furda
1 Junior - Jackson
4 Sophomores - Berry, Vidal, Grant, Breyer
1 Freshman - Jackson

OL:
3 Seniors - Frank, Baker, Presutti
4 Juniors - Jenkins, Doraty, Padrick, Shaffer
2 Sophomores - Fitchet, Parrish
1 Freshman - Rentz

My post was not meant to demean Scott's QB play this year. quite the contrary. A phenomenal year.  A superb athlete, perhaps a great athlete.  Had he performed in this fashion over two or three years as the others have, who knows. Perhaps had he played at any other D3 schools, save a couple, he would be considered great.  But, when you look at the measuring stick for QB's at Mount Union, the standard has been so elite that to even crack the top 5 or 6. Even the top 10.
Does a QB at Mount Union have to win the Stagg to be considered great?  I don't think so. But it would go a long way for #11.
From my limited perspective, he may be the best athlete to ever play the position, That is the point I was making.

This is an interesting question, raiderpa.  I honestly don't know where I fall on it, but when I start listing the greats (Borchert, Ballard, Burke, Micheli, etc.) they all have a ring or two.  But does that necessarily make it a requirement?  I'm too young to have seen the pre-Ballard guys that don't have rings, but I'd be curious what the veteran Raider fans thought.  I guess IMO once we get to the "D3.com era" I almost feel like a championship is a requirement now.  The only thing holding me back is a scenario like 2013 where Burke was absolutely great by any standard, but the rest of the team was nowhere near a championship level.  It was purely his greatness that even got them as far as they got.  Tough to penalize the QB for that.

Jordan Strack from WTOL is reporting that former Raider Jason Candle will be the new HC at Toledo.

Agree, but so much has been highlighted about the Raiders struggling with the WIAC's big Oline and Dlines in the Stagg resulting in UWW's success. In 2014, the picks and poor performance by K. Burke in that one was the key.  That was the only game that K.Burke did not meet his expectations given he was one of the Best. This year it will be about other key players not just the Oline and Dline. IMHO, the Raiders do have the Dline to match against anyone. The question is, what opposing teams can control them and expose  defensive weaknesses. T. Scott may not be one of Mount's best QB's, nor a top passing threat, but like G. Micheli he has field presence, leadership and the ability to make the big play. In the next games, he has a chance to prove it and I for one think he will rise to the challenge. :)

Wow. That would be great news for him. Solid guy. Has a strong work ethic and demands the same from those around him (players included). I would like to see either him or Matt Campbell reach out to a great RB and see if he has interest in coaching RBs - Nate Kmic!

Press Conference at 430. So based on the report Candle was in Ames and then left to go back to Toledo? Could this be interpreted as "Campbell's staff fleeing Ames"? - Kidding.

iowa State News site lists four new assistants with pictures and Candle is not one of them.
Press conference at 4:30 would lead me to believe that Candle is their man.  The players have gone to bat for him according to local media.

Dr. Acula

Sounds like Candle's star is definitely on the rise.

And in further NE Ohio news, D.J. Durkin (Youngstown Boardman) is reportedly about to be named head coach at Maryland.

Of course, Les Miles was reportedly about to be canned.  So who knows?

Heard that rumor about Durkin late last week.  Having met and talked with him earlier this year, I think he is an excellent coach and has done a great job for Michigan this year.  It would be a big loss for Michigan and Harbaugh, but I think Durkin is ready to be a Head Coach if that is what he desires.
