Wabash decided that "always" could be qualified.

And one more thing...Callahan throws 53 times and not one holding call? Give me a break!!!

In further interesting developments, Wabash has decided not to fight today.

And Linfield has made the exact same decision, at least so far.
Watch it.  I made a similar comment about Wabash and got insta-smited several times.

Skunks, you are wrong! Playing against an All-American QB your D is going to give up points. We have an excellent D. And then add in the fact your O goes stagnant...what do ya want?

I agree. The D is great. However - it has some holes and a great QB will find them Callahan is agreat QB. Today the D did not tackle well (in the secondary especially). However - before someone goes off on the lack of sacks (Mount finally played a real team and couldn't get sacks, blah-blah-blah) Wesley did exactly what I was worried about. They threw short routes, rolling the QB, underneath patterns - and Mount couldn't get the pressure. They did not go deep often and it was set up by underneath routes. Wesley played smart in their attack - but their execution was flawed with the TOs. Sorry but giving up 49 points in the first half is not the way to beat Mount Union. Unfortunately, it looks like UWW next week. (I hate UWW - and I mean that with much respect).

Oh and Wabash always fights - nevermind (smite me, bite me  :o).

So our "great" D gives up 35 points, and that was while getting 5 turnovers.  I am sorry guys, but that is not a "great" D.  I give credit to Callahan for being a gamer, but next week when we play a team that has lineman bigger/badder than ours, I am not feeling good about what might happen.  Oh wait, it will be like what has happened for the last 5 times we have played Whitewater.

HS Coach and I are seeing it for what it is.  I am not saying Mount cannot or will not win, but I see a huge hurdle ahead.

It will be all purple in Alliance next week.  Oshkosh could not recover from that missed EP.  31-29

I just got back from the UMU Wesley game and it was another wild game with Wesley.

An interesting observation was that after Wesley scored their first 4th quarter touchdown mount union put in their hands team.  Two of the deep game officials just before the kick cam running up each sideline to position themselves for a possible onside kick. The head referee was the only one left deep.  Wesley kicked long.  After the second 4th quarter touchdown the referees set up again with a set of referees at 35 yard line each side line, with another set at 40 yard line each side lines, and a third set at the 50 yard line with only the head referee deep.  Wesley kick mid range with Roman Namdar fair catching it.  I never saw referees positioning themselves in such away.  Seemed very strange for me.

Rumors were floating around Alliance this week (from a few of my impeccable sources) that there is a chance the ESPN Game Day folks were considering coming to town if it ended up being Mount vs. UWW.  Anyone with any knowledge as to that?

Also, for you regulars (and all others who are welcome), there will be our annual internet friend, wing-eating gathering on Friday night.  Mt. Fan will post details on that as the week goes on.

It should be a fun week leading up to this game.

Congrats to a great guy that I spent some time around back in the ONU days.  Great to see him make the move with Campbell to Iowa State.  Best of luck to the Cyclones with the OAC alums on staff.

Linfield always fights!

Feel bad for the UMHB snapper, though.

You are not kidding.  UMHB was a better team today undermined by a pair of over-the-head snaps.  That would drive me to drink.....
