- The Raiders have something to prove this time and they have the opportunity to do it before a potential Stagg.

They didn't have something to prove all the other times?  Great analysis...

No dude, anything prior to 2014 doesn't count.  Get with the program, RC!

In the third round of the OAC Playoff Pick-Em, aueagle aced the D3 games on his way to a solid 14 of 17 points, one point better than Bobert6296 who missed one D3 and one NAIA game.

Taking different routes, "Football picker extraordinaire" FCGrizzliesGrad and "Hoping for a Psychic Moment" HSCTiger74 went five-for-five on the extra credit questions.

Spreads for the Semi-Final Round will come out Tuesday night.

By the way, +K for Bobert6296 for building me a computer powerful enough that I was able to watch the MUC, Linfield, and Whitewater games simultaneously when they overlapped.   ;D  My old computer had trouble with just the audio feeds

Rumors were floating around Alliance this week (from a few of my impeccable sources) that there is a chance the ESPN Game Day folks were considering coming to town if it ended up being Mount vs. UWW.  Anyone with any knowledge as to that?

Also, for you regulars (and all others who are welcome), there will be our annual internet friend, wing-eating gathering on Friday night.  Mt. Fan will post details on that as the week goes on.

It should be a fun week leading up to this game.

Planning to start about 7:00 Friday at Rey's bar and grill for the annual wings and brewfest so you board posters can meet, chat and catch up on the playoff hype. Pat, Keith and the D3 cast, we hope to see you guys as we have before.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Pat will be at the St. Thomas game.

Lol, I assumed that was the case but you know what they say about ASSUME-ing. It's usually the Stagg bowl when Pat comes by the tailgate!

Early weather report for Alliance, Saturday....63 degrees  40% change of showers

Yeah -- I wish I could be there but not at $871 just for airfare. I can go to St. Thomas for the price of a gallon of gas. Ryan Tipps and Adam Turer will be in Alliance.

Mt Fan!  Good show my man!

Early reports are Skunk & Raiderguy will be in the house Friday night at Rey's, and Saturday for the game.  Jr. gets home from school on Thursday, so I am guessing he will go Saturday, but would NEVER allow a major interruption in his social life to go as he says..."hang out with a bunch of old men".

Any of you UWW honks that are getting into town on Friday are most cordially invited to attend the wing-eating horror scene that ends up happening on Friday night.  Theaprof is legendary with his wing eating prowess.

SF - if you end up making it, you know where we will be.

IMHO I see this Mount/UWW as more of a test for VK than either Mount or UWW. The players on both sides will do what they do. They will show up and they will give it all they have for 4 qtrs. However, VK has had problems with UWW (LK lost a few sure) and it seemed like it was in the area of adjustments both in game and at the half. Just my .02 cents. On another note - hate to revisit an old topic about playing tougher teams making you better etc..........but read the story on the front page and even the UWW players stated it. Got a pipe? Stick it there (or somewhere else  ::) )and smoke it! UWW players stated that playing Mount showed them where they had to go - yes they had to commit to it - but playing tougher teams made them better!

Just got 2 tickets for Saturdays game. Covered side sold-out (damn!) but oh-well. Have a friend driving up from Columbus. Now I have to explain to my 3 girls why I didn't get tickets for them...any suggestions?

desertraider,

You hit the nail on the head. It is an opportunity for VK to pass the test. rscl70 is correct, the Mount Offense needs
to make the difference on Saturday which includes keeping the top runner in the game and calling a smart game. :)

RC, I feel like I can't give you enough karma.  And for the record, no, all those other times...nothing to prove, hence, the losses.  Simple logic.

I wish I'd have known Mount had nothing to prove those other years before the game.  Would have saved me a long drive to VA.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Surprising to me that Mike Drass of Wesley has not won the Coach of Year in East Region in the past 10 years...
He really has done a great job, year in and year out, and one would assume he would have been selected...Not that the winners are not deserving, but Mike has been a model of consistency.
