All these games come down to turnovers, especially in MU's case.  UWW is built to beat MU (large D and O line) and MU can not afford to give them extra possessions. Also we need to consider the mental aspect of the game, UWW has beaten MU numerous times and they are in their head.  MU needs to get over the mental hurtle and make some big plays early in this game to build some confidence.

It all comes down to turnovers, I think but am not 100% sure that every time we have lost to UWW we also have lost the turnover battle. Last year it was 5 and I do believe they scored off of all the to's..

Just got back from picking up my tickets over at Mount.  Usually I time it so I get there around 12:45-1, so the early folks that are always there at 11:45 are gone.  Not so fast my friend...line was as long as I have seen.  And no covered stands for us!  All the season ticket holders that stayed home the last few weeks are coming out of the woodwork this week.  UWW & the weather are bringing out even the most seasoned (old) fans for this one.

I hope the game lives up to the anticipation!

So give me an example on the line length? From one end of MAAC to the other? Longer?

Classes are done! Papers are all graded and exams are all written!  Now it is time to eat wings, drink some cold beverages, visit with "my little internet friends" and watch some kick-@$$ football.  See y'all tonight down at Rey's 62!

Prediction from a UWW guy is:

UWW 35
UMU 31

Could easily see it flipped. And like I posted in the WIAC board had a dream last night that UMU was up 7-0 at half after having outgained UWW 250-140 in yards.  :o

It's Purple Power Saturday tomorrow !!!

Make sure you get your picks and your predictions in before the game starts at noon.

The results may be delayed for a few days -- hope to see some of you at the game!  :)

I believe the force to be strong with this one (Purple Raiders),
Master Jedi!! However, I agree with your score prediction on the flip side: 35-31, Mount Union.

I think Mount Union needs to score early and often like against they did against Wesley. Key difference maker prediction: Taurice Scott, due to his incredible agility and mobility. On defense, Hank Spencer & Company (the LBs). Last year your team had fantastic LBs. Now Mount has them.  The quickness needed for pass coverage as well as stopping the run.

Not sure about real TV, but you can definitely watch online via ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app.

(and if you have a cable subscription, I think you can log in through the ESPN site, you just have to enter your cable login and password - this is how I watched a couple of Central Michigan games this year when I couldn't be up there)

I run it from the computer onto the 48" using HDMI cable. Looks just like regular broadcasting

FYI... All the linebackers that started on last years team are also on this years team.

Just do not see the Raiders committing that many in this game. Last year
4 of the 5 were picks. In 2015, the Raiders have a total of 7 for 13 games.

Just to clarify:

In 2014 Mt union went into the Stagg Bowl having thrown 6 INT's through 14 games on 448 attempts. Burke threw 4 INTs in the Stagg**
In 2015 Mt Union is going into the Semis having thrown 5 INT's through 13 games on 353 attempts.

While it is true the overall turnovers are down, it's a product of less fumbles. Last year Mt Union fumbled the ball away 10 times (including 1x in the Stagg). This year they have fumbled it away just 2x through 13 games.

**past performance is not indicative of future results.

I'll post my prediction having been a part of these games before.

We can beat the line play to death and we all know how this will be the determining factor. What I THINK is going to be the determining factor of this game is not the O LINE play of the Warhawks but rather that of the Raiders. We have seen the UMU offense the past couple years have this quick strike ability, and the Warhawks have known that at any time from anywhere on the field UMU could score.

But, having been around football my whole life, a quick strike touchdown is not nearly as demoralizing or tiring as long bombs and big plays. If UMU can sustain drives against UWW of say 10+ plays, I think that would far benefit them in wearing down the defense of UWW. If it turns into them either hitting the long hitters or 3 & outs, letting Whitewater play the clock control game will not help.

I think this game goes to Whitewater. I don't see how the UMU offense can be any better without Burke at the helm, and even then we saw how much he struggled against a UWW defense who was extremely young as a front 7. Bring everyone back from that group, and I think Scott might have some issues.

UWW 31
UMU 21
