Made the mistake of reading comments on the Sportscenter post announcing tonight's victory. This was the gem of the group...

"Dynasties at this level are not impressive or newsworthy. If this is such a football hotbed and attracts such good players, why didn't any of them make D1 or even D2 schools? Heck even FCS? My alma mater Slippery Rock would destroy them. I always thought this was ridiculous to celebrate."

Heck of a team and a definitely deserved championship for the younger Kehres.  Very impressed by that team speed on D and Nemeth, Scott, Mitchell. Too many weapons to deal with. Congrats Mount fans! Party hard.

I don't believe that he/she/it graduated from Slippery Rock.  I would believe they crawled out from under a slippery rock to post.

Why did U$T abandon the run in the 2nd half?  They totally pummeled MU running power / off tackle in the 2nd quarter to the left side.  Didn't really run it in the 2nd half.  I don't know if it would have mattered but they appeared to go away from their bread and butter.

Was surprised that they went away from it in the second quarter, into the wind.  Strange.

I've thawed out, had a little bourbon, and thought about the game.  What a great TEAM effort!  Much respect to St. Thomas, but this Mount Union team just had too much speed and too much unselfish talent.  So impressed with this group of Raiders!

Exactly what Bobert and I talked about tonight.  No clear superstar ... a true team win.  Have seen Vince make adjustments the last two weeks, and think we're in good hands with Junior.

I would love to be able to see into the head of T Scott in the first quarter and see what he was thinking. I don't believe it was supreme confidence. Did the Tommies show him something he wasn't ready for....or was he just playing tight? Either way Im glad there were 3 more quarters. As someone stated earlier the Tommies seemed to wear down in the second half a little and Mounts quickness became a real factor. I would have guessed that the massive Oline the Tommies have would have had the same effect on our defense.   Fine effort by the boys in the trenches!

BTW there is still one more event to attend this season before we can call it a year. What should I wear to the championship recognition get together? Im thinking something purple !

Congrats to T Scott for the MVP award. Gotta say I would have given it to L Nemeth, but thats just me.

BJ Mitchel made all the difference when he was in the 2 back set. The defense had to play honest and cover all run threats in the backfield. Which just made the other 2 players job a little more effective.

Congrats Seniors! So glad you could go out on top.
