So I saw that B-Dubs is playing Defiance next year for non-con. Anyone have any info on the other non-cons?

Mount opens at North Carolina Wesleyan.

That should be a nice chance to invite some NC/SC/VA recruits to take a shorter trip to watch Mount play.

Is the ACC ok with Mount playing in their backyard ;D?

^ Now that's funny.

Opening in NC?  No thanks.  So glad I'm not traveling anymore.   I miss the 3 or 4 games a year that are truly competitive,  but having the other 11 or 12 weekends back is more than worth it.

Though this would have been a chance to see Mr Mom and thank him for the cowbells way back when.  It still sits on my window sill at the office and cracks me up.  The look on Ric's face was priceless.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I'd just like everyone to know that I got to hang out with the legendary Saintsfan last night in Scottsdale.  He's doing well but still not allowed within 500 feet of minors.

Read this over on the MIAC Board;
Capital University (D-III – OH): Source tells FootballScoop Hamline (D-III – MN) head coach Chad Rogosheske will be the new head coach at Capital.
Anyone know how accurate the sources may be? Rogosheske and staff were making Hamline competitive in the MIAC, if true it will be interesting to see what he can do in the OAC.

This hiring is official according to Cap's Twitter feed.

I was sore today after the flight back to Boston - hadn't swung a golf club in awhile.

Edit:  and today, I'm still sofa king sore from the golf!

In the 2014-15 academic year the tuition at Marietta College was $33,490.  There are 57 players listed on their roster.  That equals slightly over $1.9 million.  I don't know what their football budget was but when you consider that 1. they have to have insurance whether they play football or not (football insurance isn't a separate entity) 2. they aren't re-equipping the team annually and 3. most small college coaches are also teaching so their football salary isn't that significant I'd wonder whether it actually is a losing proposition financially.

This is an interesting discussion.  I hope you don't mind an outsider joining in.

I never said insurance was separate. However, given all the injuries associated with football I bet they would have a better rate without it. As I said in my original post they may lose some players without football - but I doubt they would lose them all. If they have 57 on the roster (I didn't check so am using your number) the would lose some - but how many made football the decision to go to Wilma vs. those that decided to play once they got there? In addition not all are paying 33.5K. Financial aid (need based, etc.) offsets some of that. In addition while they are not re-equipping the team annually, the facilities need maintenance and upgrades (equipment and facilities). On the teaching classes - I will get back to you on that one. Need to check some stuff first.

Is it me or does desert raider get extra fired up for posts from fans of the elite teams in D3.  I'm just hoping my alma mater joins that class of teams so he gets all mad at me!

It is you. I only get fired up for NCAC posters...well those that bring their "perceived academic superiority" into football discussion: 'well maybe if we weren't plagued by being the #1 school in Neo-Classical Art History and Post-Renaissance Romance Literature in Eastern Europe, we would win championships too  ;D

Neo-classical art history is just a unit within the art history course curriculum at Ohio Northern.  I guess this explains the early playoff exit for the Polar Bears.

That's a long way from Alliance.  Would that we the first kid from WA?  I don't recall seeing any over the years, but that doesn't mean anything.

Lambert just looks like a nice all around football player. Offense or defense. I don't always love 40 times, but if you watch them play it tells a lot more. Ex. Kmic would be an average sprinter, but put him on a football field with pads and not many people can bring him down.

I saw UMU is excited to get their spring ball started tomorrow on Twitter. Will be interesting to see which younger guys step up into starter roles at many open positions. Many of these freshman "look good" in highlights(which you should, hence the word highlight) which doesn't mean much and the fact that they won't be on campus until mid summer, with the exception of Poorman. I'll check with a friend of mine in a week or so after they've been practicing to hear if there's anything interesting going on.

Louis Berry ended up 6th in nation in the 60m dash in 6.9 seconds. I think that was .05 off his season PR, but great showing for a freshman. What a great way to start you college career....interception in national championship win in football and all American in indoor track.

Another interesting QB commit from Miramar, FL. D'Angelo Fulford. Athletic qb that throws good long ball, but didn't see many short/intermediate throws on highlight. Most interesting thing to me is that he plays big time football down there. Played vs St Thomas Aquinas (with Nick Bosa, going to OSU and half of their lineup is D1 talent. Fulford kept it respectable with a couple of scores.
