Concerning is the fact that today they're not doing well against the run while continuing to be bad against the pass.  352 yards of offense allowed in a half?  That's as poor a half of football as I've seen in ages.

That has to be the worst Mount game I have ever watched. I am speechless. Terrible. A win - sure, but man was that bad. I was going to that Pat for posting that the stream was up -but having watched it I wish he would have not mentioned it.

They seemed completely flat.  No emotion.  It's a good thing for us the OAC is as bad as it is this year.

BW just lost to Etta.  62-56.  Wow.

Spurrier

Anyone at the onu game knows the score doesn't tell the story...like to have three plays back...kick FG on first drive...pick six on the three...and bad punt snap for a td...mount was lucky instead of good today
Why the defense ain't werkin'?

Dr. Acula

Just watched the conclusion of the Cap/Ott battle.  It was back and forth down the stretch. Fun game.  Ott scores to go up 41-34, but misses the PAT.  Cap goes down the field scores with 2 min left and converts the 2 point conversion to go up 42-41.  Ott drives inside the 25 only to lose a fumble.

Also strange...Cap went for 2 every time.  No kicks after TD.  Didn't hear why.

We've got to find a pass rush somehow, whether it's scheme or personnel. No Louis Berry as well, not sure but he didn't look healthy last week after the game after getting dinged at BW. Defense looked flat and didn't tackle well in space, which was surprising.

In my very unprofessional opinion, UMU offense needs to pass to set up our run game. We can't pound BJ a ton every game and be ready for the playoffs. I didn't watch the entire game, but it seemed ONU was putting 7-8 guys in the box and daring them to throw. We have the line to give the young QBs time. Im not sure who I want at QB, but we need to get the safeties and linebackers on their heels. I really hope we don't sleep on Heidelberg next week or it could be our first regular season home loss in 11 years.

For as many yards as the defense gave up today, they were very opportunistic in creating turnovers and putting pressure on teams with special teams.

As I've said before about D3 this year...its wide open! I watched the end of the WW/Platteville game and UWP was one holding call on a screen away from having the ball inside the 15yard line down 6 to win the game with a minute left, then a fumble put them in terrible position. It'll be interesting for sure and I'm not so sure we will see an all purple bowl this season.

Week #5 results of the 2016 OAC Pick-Em have been posted.

theaprof came back strong from a bye week, nailing 12 of the possible 16 points in a difficule week where most of the OAC forgot how to play defense.  Joining him with double-digits (10) were bleedpurple, NCF, reality check, and smedindy.

Sir Battlescars's lead shrunk a bit for the first time this year, leaving him four clear of Logan Hansen Nostradamus Index.

Week #5 spreads will come out Monday night.

Spurrier:  It seems only fair that if ONU gets to take three plays back, MUC/UMU gets to take three plays back.

So wouldn't the final score be roughly the same?

I know Mount played very poorly today, but this isn't Brooks/Dye Berg.  Berg needed two long passes in the final two minutes to set up a short TD and eek out a 27-24 win over MUSKY today.  At home.  That's a sentence I'd expect to type about Cap's game with the Fish.

Mounts "victory" can be seen a number of ways. They played like garbage and eeked out a win despite being outplayed. However, they did win. No matter how this is viewed - they didn't collapse and lose it. However, much improvement is needed. I would feel better about Berg if the didn't complete those 2 long passes. Mount's problem starts with the pass defense - it isn't that good. The run D wasn't good today but I think ONUs line was better than Mount has seen this season. I really think the 2 QB system is becoming a problem. Poorman looked good in 1st qtr - Mount got going - then he had to sit and Fulford had a slow start. Against better teams Mount can't afford to lose momentum early. My .02 cents - and no I have no championship rings to back my opinion up. I just think the 2 QB thing is going to hurt in the end.
