Luke Poorman is taking over game.

Berg QB came of field limping. Getting ankle tapped up. Ow.

BW is trying to one up their loss to Etta...

Start of the 4th, Wilm 14, BW 13!

(And it's no fluke. Both Wilm scores were 80+ yd drives)

Berg keeping up with Mount, instead of their usual 30+ point halftime deficit.  Even out gaining Mount in total yards 228 to 198!  Although Mount has had some pretty short fields.  Can't wait to see my team collapse in the second half!  :P  But for the moral victory maybe for the second year in a row they can score the most points on Mount from the OAC.

Well the collapse was epic. Less than 100yds after half and zero points. Nice adjustments by the Raiders at half time. Did a decent job against the run today and patched up the pass D in 2nd half. JCU appears to be improving week-by-week. End of season clash should be an interesting one.

Here's a first half stat to chew on...Mount RB's had 25 carries in the first half.  NINE of them went for a loss (6) or no gain (3).

Hence the problem with Mitchell at TB.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I agree HSCoach, Mitchell had his cutback lanes plugged and his only good gains were jet sweeps without looking for cutbacks.  Berg did a really good job against the run in the first half and I believe had more offensive yards in first half than Mount.
Defense is improving and pass defense was improved, but still weak and needs to continue to get better.  D-line got gashed by Berg line on many running plays.  Charlie Deer and Danny Robinson were great today.
I like Dwayne Aaron much better at TB.  He runs strong, is hard to bring down and appears to have good vision.  Poorman got more out of the offense today than Fulford, but Fulford was not bad. He had a couple big drops. Both Qb's appeared to make pretty good decisions.
I think the coaching staff is getting these kids better each week.
17 thousand at WWW???!!!  What an atmosphere that must have been.  Incredible.
Poor Matt Campbell's Iowa State team blew a 17 point 3rd qtr lead at Okla State.  They are also getting better, but could have beaten Baylor (also blew a 3rd qtr lead) and Okla State with a couple defensive playmakers.  No pressure at all on QB, and Matt's QB fell apart at crunch time.  Matt will get this turned around.
Asked about Jamal Johnson in the tailgate crowd before the game and the comment was, "He's gone".  don't know particulars.

It had a raucous aura...or so I'm told.

I was told yesterday that Jamal quit the team--again, no particulars.

Week #6 results of the 2016 OAC Pick-Em have been posted.

This week wally_wabash swept the OAC conference games on his way to a 12 of 15 score; a point back was fellow LG bashbrother and D3FTBALLFAN.

And now it's a party!  Sir Battlescars's lead is down to a single point over HansenRatings with another eleven players within 10 points.

Week #7 spreads will come out Monday night.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Positive Purple Raider takeaways from yesterday.
1. Both QBs threw the ball well with a couple of drops on the WR end.
2. Coaching staff made great adjustments at halftime....gave up zero points in the 2nd half!
3. Dwayne Aaron was a bowling ball running it yesterday and always getting positive yards, maybe he becomes the bruiser in the tandem? Many of our great runs have happened with a senior stepping up at RB during the season. Examples Jake Simon 2012 and Logan Nemeth 2015.
4. We won without significant injuries. I see some people on other D3 sites coming after Mount. What's new? At least we didn't need a Hail Mary (St. Thomas) or last minute TD to win (UWW). UWW had a tough opponent, but ST can't say the same.

I see this team going in the right direction. They are making progress one step at a time! One week at a time!

Did Fulford get hurt?  I thought the radio guys mentioned it in the 2nd half, but they didn't elaborate.

resqdog

Heard today that Fulford broke his collarbone. Done for this year.

Ouch. Well that's not good. Hate to see injuries at any time but they happen. Any more on Jamal? I assume if he quit he withdrew from UMU? The timing is my issue - having taught at the college level. Normally if a kid just disappears and it is right after mid-term grades it has something to do with academics. I could be wrong and hope I am.

The one thing that is really fortunate is that the OAC is down and JCU is the final game.  It really set up nicely for the coaches to bring this team along slowly building up to JCU and the playoffs.  They have the luxury of developing things at the pace they see fit.

As for Saturday, I will add that I thought Charlie Dear played really well.  He's doing a nice job anchoring the middle of the defense.  And also, congrats to Justin Hill on his first collegiate TD.  Hopefully the first of many.

That's terrible for Fulford. I hope he heals fast and comes back 100 percent.
Just read an article about Louis Berry and it stated that he has a high ankle sprain, so I wouldn't rush him back. It's a nice short read. http://triblive.com/sports/otherlocal/11282315-74/berry-defense-football
I'm watching the replay now on STO and Poorman looked much better throwing. I think some of that may be from confidence and not having to look over your shoulder. I'll be interested to see if the coaching staff wants game reps for Dominic Davis at QB as well.
Anybody hear anything on Jared Ruth? I'd sure like to have him back as an option as well, but he didn't play either.
Another guy I missed that came up big was Redman with a blocked punt, sack and I think another TFL.
I'll be interested to see what other freshman and sophomores begin to get some PT. This is the time of year that Kehres starts to find the ones that can play and get their feet wet.
