No Salem trip for me.   I'm done traveling.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

But the only time Mount travels is when they go to Salem.

Don't forget to get your OAC Pick-Em picks in.

And please watch some extra football for me while I'm stuck at a wedding.  :(

Otterbein might actually be a semi-interesting match up tomorrow.  Their QB, Logan Stepp, is a converted WR.  He's currently 4th in the OAC at 214 yds per game.  He's also 4th in rushing though at 91 yds per game (6.0 ypc).  He has impressive TD:INT at 12-1.  And they feature two of the better WR's statistically.  Hunter Joseph leads the conference at just under 95 yds per game including 18.3 yds/rec.  Julian Lowe is 7th at 58 yds/gm and 3rd with 6 TD.  Hopefully it'll be a decent test for the defense.

I was reading the pregame notes and thought the same thing. The only "knock" on OTT and the numbers they have put up is that they have not played Mount or JCU. In other words they have played the teams that alot of teams get good numbers against. That being said we all know Mount is vulnerable on pass D. They have gotten better each week and having Berry available won't hurt, but it is still the weak spot. The key for OTT in my opinion is to score in the first quarter. The guy I knew who was an OTT DB graduated - but he said that by the time OTT had adjusted to Mounts speed the score was 35-0 and it was 2nd qtr. They can't do that if they want to compete. OTT has to score in 1st qtr and stay balanced. If they are playing from 3 or more scores down then the run is out and they become 1 dimensional. Mount needs a test before JCU and this could be it. Oh - and Julian Lowe (an incredibly talented WR for OTT) needs to close his mouth and PLAY.

Okay, enough of this "Mount needs tested" stuff.  Time to matriculate the ball down the field.

The pass def. is looking weak again.  Does not bode well after 7 weeks.

Odd game for Mitchell today.  Never really got going.  And how many Raider fans saw Nero make a couple nice runs and thought "you know, that kid is 200 lbs.  Maybe..."?

Nero is a hard worker, a hard runner and a great kid. I was happy for him to get to show some stuff today. I am not sure he can do those "Logan things" but he will never quit.

We had a called shot this weekend as desertraider declared "This is the week that I put it all together for the playoff push!" and actually followed through.  He had a strong 11 points, along with reality check, wally_wabash, and Kira & Jason's Dad.  But matblake squeezed by the quartet by a point, taking Week 9 honors with twelve.

reality check's eleven points allowed him to leapfrog bashbrother to take the overall lead.  That makes four different leaders in the last four weeks.

Week 10 spreads come out Monday night.
