What's w the UWW bashing?  I don't see Warhawk posters on this board complaining about Mt hosting.
There is a stubborn fact though. Whatever % of playoff games UWW has had at home is still less than 100%- right?

I'm not complaining, it just is what it is.

Question for you guys:

Who has played the 2nd most NCAA Playoff Games at home since 2009, behind Mount Union, yet haven't appeared in the Stagg Bowl?

It feels like the answer should be Wesley, but that almost seems too obvious to be right.  Could be UMHB or Linfield.

The answer has to be one of UMHB, Wesley, Linfield or UWW. Doesn't it? My stab on this would be UWW. With the exception of the year they missed playoffs, they host alot.

But UWW has certainly been to a Stagg Bowl since 2009, so they'd be out.
ro
Plus UWW gets hosed and has to travel ALL.  THE.  TIME.  in the tournament in case you haven't heard.
When is that last time a poster from UW-W complained about travel? I've seen posts pointing out the success we've had on the road but not many complaining about it ( least since 2010).  Did any Whitewater fans complaiin about having to go to Mount last year? Maybe, but I'm not aware of it.  Feels like an unwarranted shot to me. I would have thought you would be in a little better place with Regional Rankings out. This is your time to shine. Why lower yourself to this stuff?

And desertraider, you seem a little crabby yourself. Dissing UW-W fan and Linfield all in one post?

Unprovoked posts like these make me wonder what the posters are stressing about.

Just so the facts are out since 2005 the WARHAWKS have played 30 of 40 playoff games (excluding the Stagg Bowl) at home. 30-0 at home, 9-1 on road  It doesn't seem to matter much.

I think there is some attempt at humorous banter going on.  Much Respect to the UWW Nation.

Not much to talk about this year on the OAC board.  Especially with MTU playing FOUR different Freshmen QBs and still winning with ease.

Hopefully JCU is a good game to prepare the Raiders for another playoff run.

Sorry missed the Stagg Bowl part. My Bad. So, according to your post....UWW doesn't have to travel everywhere for playoffs. Wow. And they lost 3 games....in the same year??? What - no that is understandable since the WIAC is the toughest conference that god ever created and includes not only UWW but god him/her self on the schedule.

No - the post had some good stuff. No offense to Linfield but the "61 consecutive winning season" thing reminds me of BW and the ol' streak of mediocrity. I mean it is a great streak...but when do you crack through?

I was merely curious.  I'm not bashing UWW.  I started the search because I felt Linfield played alot at home in the postseason.  To me, the numbers for the Warhawks illustrate their dominance.

St. Thomas has played 16 of 19 Playoff games at home since 2009.  I bet that is the second highest percentage of home games behind Mount Union.

*Of course, I didn't count Stagg Bowl games in St. Thomas and UWW's numbers.

All this traveling talk has me wondering which school has to travel the most miles in a regular season. There has to be a remote school in some conference with exorbatant travel expenses. Maybe they have a team jet

You'd have to look at Sul Ross State in the ASC and they definitely do not have a team jet. Those are some long, long bus rides. For example, Sul Ross State to Belhaven, conference game, is 908 miles per TES. If it's not your year to travel to Belhaven, it is your year to travel to Louisiana College, a mere 808 miles.

UMHB, 418 miles
HSU, 321 miles
ETBU, 655 miles
McMurry, 320 miles
HPU, 326 miles

Now add back in:
TLU, 413 miles
Southwestern, 406 miles

For comparison purposes, the longest trip in the ODAC once Catholic leaves:
E&H to Shenandoah, 290 miles

The longest trip in the OAC:
JCU to Wilmington, 209 miles

The other schools to look at would be Chicago and Wash U in the SAA. Both are ill-fitting partners, and neither are sticking around, though for the SAA to pick up Trinity and Austin isn't a help, as they will supplant SRSU.

Chicago to Millsaps: 734 miles
Chicago to Centre: 372 miles (closest conference opponent)

Trinity TX to Centre: 1131 miles
Trinity TX to Millsaps: 639 miles
Trinity TX to Henrix: 617 miles (closest conference game)

I suspect Trinity TX and Austin College will be buying a flights in bulk, and the rest of the SAA except Hendrix, Rhodes, and Millsaps will be buying at least one flight a year.

You can look a the MWC which is clearly split into northern and southern divisions. But Westminster to St. Scholastica is no joke: 666 miles.

Finally, you can talk about the oddest fits. Surely Chicago and Wash U fall into this category, but really it is Thomas More who simply is geographically wrong for their conference. All of the rest of the PAC falls into a tight grouping from CWRU to Waynesburg, a whopping 183 miles apart. TMC, however, is 295 miles from its closest conference opponent, Waynesburg. TMC would, geographically, fit better into the HCAC, OAC, or NCAC, but needs must and they simply hang in the middle of nowhere.

To a degree, Huntingdon does this as well. Though LaGrange provides some proximity. But Huntingdon is 562 miles from Ferrum, nothing for SRSU, but a lot for most schools. The difference is the USASAC covers a huge area, even excluding Huntingdon, the PAC doesn't.

Last but not least, lets not forget about poor Southern Virginia. The rest of the NJAC stretches from Willy Pat to Frostburg, no more than 316 miles. SVa to Frostburg alone is 205 miles, add the 316 more to get to Willy Pat.

OMG! Collectively - reach around and pull the knickers out of your butts. Seriously? It wasn't a shot at UWW - hell look at my history of posts and you will see that I have nothing but (no pun intended) respect for UWW. In addition I have no problem if Wesley, UMHB, UWW and Mount host every damn game from now until they cease to be. Why? Because they are the 4 best teams EVERY SINGLE YEAR! I was merely indicating that a lot of Mount hosting bashing tends to take place (especially at playoff time) and 'look other teams host a lot too'. In addition - the post on Linfield is just an opinion. Like we used to have about BWs longtest non-losing season rag.

I swear to Christ all the tears and tissues resulting from any post that in any way mentions the slightest 'dig' at any team, for any reason, makes me wonder if this is truly an opinion board or is simply a "kiss every teams accomplishments and ass to make them feel better" board.

Mic drop - see ya!

Funny, I sense a lot of "tears and tissues" in this post.  ;D

Hey Desert, I enjoy reading your posts. But to say you didn't take a shot at UWW seems contrary to the context above.
Like you said and I agree though, this is an opinion board and not a kiss butt board. You stated your opinion above and some UWW guys stated ours- seems to me the board is working just fine.
I think we UWW guys are getting game faces on a bit earlier this year and let's face it, Mt has the winning streak going against the Dub so we are edgy.

I'm as big a Mount fan as any, but anyone in the OAC trying to pick on the WIAC is just dumb.   Especially this year when the OAC is as bad as it had been in the last 30 years.  Mount is on another level and had been since the early 90's, but the average WIAC team would typically be 2nd or 3rd place in the OAC.   And don't even bring Wilma, Etta and Musky into the discussion.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Not a ton of new developments in this week's 2 deep:

QB pecking order remained Davis then Taitt.

Hargrove is back at WR, but listed as #2 behind Hill.

Freshman Trey Williams is now listed as Robinson's backup at LB.  That now makes five freshmen backups on D (Williams, Reid, Sanders, Evans, Hall).

Freshman Noah Ball is the KO specialist this week.

Why the defense ain't werkin'?

Dr. Acula

Little bit of a sloppy second qtr.  Mount blew two scoring chances as Friss and Hill both fumbled inside the Musky 10.  Good news is Davis looks sharp again.  14-18, 283, TD at half.
