Could have said that most years when they headed to Salem  ;)
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Is Johns Hopkins University connected to the Medical Center of the same name?

Yup!

Well...
My medical insurance card says "Johns Hopkins," but they are all baffled as to why I bleed PURPLE & WHITE!!!
GO RAIDERS!!!!!

You might be a die-hard Mount Union fan but I'm pretty sure you bleed a mixture of stout beer and beef jerkey.

Well, I said it before, and I say it again ... I still baffle Johns Hopkins medical professionals ... even though, RC, it is light beer and chicken wings these days!  (They bow down and worship my cholesterol results, by the way).
Myself (MUC Class of '81), and my oldest daughter (MUC Class of '04) will be at Homewood Stadium for the game tomorrow.  We both work in D.C., but live in Odenton, MD.  Anyone that decides they do not want to drive home after the game, we have sleeper space at our houses; bring your overnight bag, as we do not offer all the hotel accoutrements.  You will, though, have to "spring" for the stout beer and beef jerky at our local "dive" watering hole!

I'm driving up from Fairfax tomorrow morning.  Getting to the campus is no problem, but I was wondering about parking.  Do you know if there's stadium parking or do we have to look for visitors' parking elsewhere on campus?

I was last there in 2012 (JHU Vs. W&J for the right to go to Alliance in the second round).  My route study ahead of time ... to include looking at some GoogleMaps satellite shots, showed no parking lots very close to the stadium.  I parked on a side street and walked 3-4 blocks.  Saw no signs prohibiting the parking.
I recall that parking on W. University Parkway was metered.  Not sure what has changed in four years ... besides the increasing crime and unrest in Baltimore.  (O.K. ... that was uncalled for ... but I am travelling with a "fully-dressed" U.S. Marshall, anyway).

Man, JHU can really toss the pigskin.  This is going to be an interesting game.  Some good news from combing through info...their defense doesn't seem to be world beaters.  They allow 19 pts and 160+ on the ground a game.  And that's not exactly the WIAC on their schedule.  Their best opponent to date (Muhlenberg) put up almost 500 yds on them.  This one could be back and forth tomorrow.

The Mount Union game trumps OSU (I just live too close to Baltimore); I will follow OSU on the phone at Homewood (my nephew will be in the Horseshoe, and providing important game updates via text).
Here is the deal with me ... as I tried to explain it to a Texas grad boss back in 2005 ... if OSU loses, I am disappointed.  If Mount Union loses, well ... it is a different story, and may take some recovery time depending upon when it happens.

Mr. Ypsi

Go ahead and watch JHU/UMU with a clear conscience - it should be a helluva game.  Jabrill Peppers is gonna secure the Heisman (3 TDs, one offense, one defense, and one special teams) with a thumping of OSU. ;D

wesleydad

Good luck to the OAC today, 2 good games to see.  As expected I will be cheering for Wesley and hoping that Hopkins can pull off the upset.  Safe travels if you are heading out for the games.  I will be watching on the computer.

skunks_sidekick

Let's go Mount!

This is the first time in about 20 years I will not be gathered with Skunk's family at Pancho's for pregame, and then at the game.

However, we are gathering at the Fox & Hound to watch the OSU/MI game, and the manager there is going to stream the Mount game on one of the big screens.  Here's hoping for a winning/successful day!

Have fun everyone!  It's a great day for college football.

Desertraider

Should be a good game today and as always I want to see a Mount win. However, if Hopkins can run the ball that will be the difference. I think Hobart was not a real run threat (they really weren't) so Mount could focus on the pass attack and give up a little on the ground. If Hopkins is more balanced and the run is a realistic threat - Mount won't be able to drop 7 into coverage and it could be a long day. As always though - Roll Raiders~Roll!! Safe travels to all headed to the game-
