So Pep is just wondering how well Mount Union fans travel? Pep understands that this is really the first year in a very long time that  Mount fans have had to travel (other than to Salem, VA) for playoffs. How many might we expect in Mayberry this Saterday?

It is much warmer in Belton, TX

You are correct. Pep was there in late July scouting out the UMHB stadium. Looking forward to taking the band down there next weekend for a break from this wintry weather.  :)

Will the pep band be sitting on mounts side or MHB side for the game?  ;)

I think, knowing the Mount fans like I do, you can count it being more than 50 but less than 20,000

You know?  Like a D3 playoff road team.

Good luck to our OAC teams Saturday. They have made a pretty good showing so far.
Keep in mind, they come from a lousy conference. John Carroll only made the playoffs because they got the automatic qualifier. Mount Union shouldn't even be in because they had a loss!
Go get 'em Purple Raiders and Blue Streaks.

I don't disagree with the folks who say the conference is weak...because it is.  The bottom 8 teams are below average at best to horrific at worst.  With that said, I think the top two are better than folks realize, myself included.

Good luck to the Streaks in Whitewater. Its not snowing - so ya got that going for you. Cloudy and 36 isn't bad this time of year - downright balmy!

As for my Raiders - Run, Run, Run! Would love to see a 2 back set with Aaron and BJ or Bj and Morris - plus I want to see Nero in there. Game should be interesting. I think Mount needs to grind clock with longer drives (scoring drives) and establish the run. Sacrifice a WR for an extra back, split em wider so they can get the edge quicker. I have been surprised (mildly though) that BJs speed to the edge has been absent. Push him a yard further out when he lines up. Then again, I was a defense guy - so what do I know?

Hey Pep , I think about 250-300 Raider fans made it for the Hobart game, and they were very strong vocal supporters. Not sure how this projects for a  Mayberry turnout, but I am sure the Pep band will attract a few more. Wish I could make it down myself, it should be a great game.

You got that right! There are about 500 other teams that should have gotten in first! Like St. John Fisher, Frostburg State, DePauw, Kenyon, Finlandia, Principia, Fredonia State, and St. Mary's Indiana, just to name a few! No way either team makes it out of the 2nd round, right?  ;)

During Pep's visit in Belton, he walked into the student bookstore that's in the building right behind the visitor stands and marveled at all the purple and gold he saw on display. This was in late July and the staff was preparing textbooks for the coming onslaught of students.

Pep, donning a purple and gold hat with an "AU Football" insignia, inquired of the busy bookstore clerks, "I'm loving all the purple and gold clothing on display. Do you have any that say 'ALFRED'?" They didn't.

Pep is thinking they can make a killing next Saturday if they have the foresight to order the Alfred stuff today!  ;)

You're right about that, Bart, heck, the band drew more than 5,100 fans to its season finale gig with Fisher, maybe 300 to 500 Cardinal fans. That was the most Fisher fans Pep had seen there in a long time. Pep is thinking that word's gotten out that the band's pretty good.  ;D

Maybe it has something to do with that cross-country trip you did over the offseason!
