I can barely process all of this right now haha!! That was one of the best games I've ever attended. Let's keep it going!!
As for the site for the next game, I'm not sure if this has any bearing, but since they are both 2 seeds, would the regional rankings have any decide the host? If so, JCU was #2 in the north, while Oshkosh was #3 in the west. Not sure if that means anything, or if it would go to UWO because of the head to head

Not sure if this is accurate but, espn 3 has the John carroll/oshkosh game listed as a 1pm est start time. The mount/UMHB game a 4:30 est start time.

First let me say I think the sites for next weeks games make perfect sense.
However I think a very interesting rule be as follows.  First it would require that each teams seed be public knowledge from the start.  Each week the higher seeded team would be host with the exception that if you beat a higher seeded team you assume their seed.  To avoid teams having the same seeds in the semi's the seeds are given out 1-32 nationally and not 1-8 by region.

If you go on the road and beat the overall number one seed you should get the reward of the rest of the games at home.  Just a thought.

I realize that Wisconsin will probably get the game but maybe the following might change that. Please correct me on any matters I have wrong here. NCAA is concerned with travel. I am not sure of the city of Oshkosh or what major cities it is located near. Is it possible the location of Cleveland and the ease of access to John Carroll could be a factor?  Also could weather play a consideration? Once again I am not familiar with the weather in mid december in Wisconsin and nobody can say the weather at the western end of the snowbelt is a piece of cake but I would probably bet on Northeast Ohio's weather being better game day. One more thing maybe in Oshkosh favor may be that the NCAA will the two games so close together.

with Youngstown State's win yesterday that makes three northeast Ohio teams that have made at least the third round of their respective playoffs.

The times and locations were confirmed JCU at UWO, 1pm EST and MTU at UMHB, 4:30pm EST

The home field decision based on the rankings when brackets were originally set.  I think the results of the game 10 JCU/Mount Union game along with collective weakness of the rest of the teams in OAC resulted in difficulty in ranking both teams.

Now with both OAC teams earning their way to the semifinals the respect for OAC has been reestablished.

So far in this year's playoffs the road teams record is 7-21 with over half of those being OAC which has a 4-0 record and out scored opponents 167-101.  We'll see if they can keep it up on the road.

Onward on, John Carroll

Mount fans . . . what are the best hotels to stay in in Salem in the event any of your fans or our fans want to book early just in case of wins next week? Full service (READ: a bar) would be great but if there is access nearby, that would suffice.

JCU will play at Oshkosh, Mount Union will travel to Texas (but we knew that).

I said a week or so ago that if JCU and Oshkosh met again the score would be closer...and maybe a different result entirely.  I hope I'm right.

I never thought I would say this, but here goes.
Congrats on the victory yesterday and good luck all the way to the Stagg Bowl.
Of course, if you meet Mount there, well ............

And by the way, GO RAIDERS!

MUC57,
What you said, kind of kindred spirit. I became a fan of MUC in '57. WHOOPS! Wrong, change '57 to '67.

Sorry,

I assume Mount is flying to Texas.  What about John Carroll?  Flights to Whitewater and Oshkosh?

wally_wabash

Yep. 530 miles to UW-Oshkosh from JCU so they get a jet.

I stand corrected again.
Mine's from memory. You too, probably.
How many catches did the tall guy get?
I was obviously not watching that game.  I was watching The Beast From the East.
Yes, always pessimistic about outliers.  I even believe schools bring in players that do not graduate.
